Uncovering the reloading bench and cranking out some rounds this weekend, it's been too long

Good to know. Will have to try to check out the 4" & 7" together. I imagine the 4" will balance a bit better with a can, but the brace being shouldered should negate any balance issues.

That's weird. Hopefully there isn't a new law to make this circumvention obsolete though.Apparently has something to do with the overall length. But doesn't a longer gun make the short barrel kinda moot?

Speaking of pistol braces it is going to take me a long time to build an AR pistol. I plan to use the maxim defense brace when I do though. That thing is awesome.

I saw the romeo5 take another price cut on brownells with a different code, not sure if it's still up, another 10 or 12 off. I did get my ebates credit, so break even. The laser came in today. Time to retrofit the flame thrower.

I fail to really see the point in those other than because you can.

Also I am not sure why it says only free shipping with 10 cause I was able to get free shipping on as few as I wanted. I originally was only going to get 4 cause I thought I had to pay shipping but when shipping was free I figured why not get 1 more then. Might have to do with the fact they are in SC and I am in NC.

Technically with that brace though couldn't you leave that thing loaded in the car if you wanted? And then I won't be on some list too.

Because the mags look cool!

and you can

I don't know your state laws.
We don't have bullshit laws on the book like that.
If that's the case, then it would be advantageous to keep it a pistol.

Is it any more difficult to transport across state lines if I were to buy a tax stamp vs it being a 'pistol'?

I have no idea
Pistols are usually less scrutinized
So if it's a truck vagon gun, probably best kept a pistol
I'd check, I rarely cross state lines
Since it takes forever to get to any of them

that would be a good point

I am close to the NC/SC border and have a bunch of friends in SC that go to some ranges down there I have found out so whatever I eventually do I want to be able to wherever. I will have to do some research on that I guess. Passing through MD to visit home is also an issue but if that would be my only issue with a tax stamp I would just leave that one at home when I travel. Long ways off though so plenty of time for research.

I'm sure y'all heard about Tony Buzzbee, a high powered attorney who had a WWII tank parked in front of his mansion that caused a stink for his neighbors, here in Houston.
It was temporary parked until he shipped to his ranch.
Then a few months after that, he took home a drunk court reporter who trashed $300k in art.

Funny you mention Houston. :-) A relatively low key Texan with whom I was acquainted for a couple of decades usually lives in Hampshire.

He got himself into a world of trouble when he decided to not just buy and hold onto a bunch of vintage equipment, but *use* that equipment in a full scale re-enactment of part of the Falklands conflict.

It did not sit well with his relatively well heeled Hampshire neighbors. LOL....

I suppose they thought they were having a jolly good time but for us it was a nightmare.
The estate manager consulted with the local constabulary, the fire service and the Civil Aviation Authority and got their okays, but they didn't count on some of the people around them.

This was back in 2007, I think.

This is America.. Shooting from a vehicle should be in the bill of rights.
Too bad they didn't have vehicles back then.

Spent a couple days reorganizing my gun room and clearing off my reloading bench for a friend to come over and do some reloading with me... and he brought his bag of stuff but no large rifle primers So yeah, at least I have a nice clean bench that's ready for some reloading again

Took a shot at a doe at 175yds, missed just a bit low. Rifle sighted at 100yds, so I think I was about 1" low at 200. Going to re-sight it at 200, once the weather warms up a bit.

To expand on this a bit
From TPWD:

I was on my boat one day and I saw some trespassers on private land, it wasn't my land, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't theirs either
The gators and crabs took care of the rest
