Best gun I ever owned is my sig P220. Dont need any fancy sights to hit with that.

personal preference but no other gun has felt the same to me in my hands.

+1
I was buying Glocks, Berettas, 1911 and 1911 comps. I must have had 8-10 different guns in 2 years. I got a P229 and a P220, haven't purchased another handgun.

Any luck with buying good quantities in bulk from WalMart in socal? It's either that or online.
I started reloading recently. Picked up a Dillion 550b press and a bunch of other equipment. In fact, im heading to the range today to use my first batch of rounds

I used to buy in Walmart all the time. Winchester value packs. 100 rounds of .40S&W for around $23

Sweet!...one of my college professors was a big 45 cal competition shooter... he was building custom loads for his rig... he was almost deaf from years of range time with fair to no ear protection...

.... and let us know how your loads do on the range!

Will do. They are the minimum loads, so I dont expect to have much trouble with them. I measured each and every one for bullet depth and checked them all with a gage. I think im good to go...

Yea I've got a tac light for my XD. I dont really plan on keeping the Kimber as a home defenese weapon anyway, so the rail isnt that important to me. That's what the Mossberg is for

Got to the range today. Got off about 200+ rounds, and all performed flawlessly (except for 1 FTF). VERY accurate! I was very happy with the results. I'm officially hooked on reloading...

Great! I signed up for the "Joerockt introductory free 1000 rounds of ammo" club tonight, and will be eagerly awaiting my 1000rnd of .45ACP in the mail. Joe, that was great of you to offer 1000 rounds free to all interested AZers!

Yea, well... The ladies in line in front and back of me were just staring at me when I put all the boxes on the cashier's belt. The lady behind me was like, "Wow, are you going hunting?" (With .40 ammo?)

Yup! $9.37/box. I went to the one in Foothill Ranch near my city. The WWB is up in price, WTH? I'm ordering the JHP in bulk online since it's a tad cheaper, free shipping too.

edit: Concerning your last post of the guy who bought 26K rounds... how in the world do you transport that stuff... Geesus... Must have weighed a TON

yeah, the wwb has been climbing in price. the manufacturers had 2 or 3 increases in the past year. rumor has it that there will be another increase early next year.

remember, buy it cheap, stack it deep.

How long do you guys "trust" commercially prepared ammo for?

How long would you trust "Carry" ammo before discarding/shooting it off?

I try to shoot off commercial ammo within a year or so (if I have large amounts, vice versa).

With carry ammo this is what I've always done (a technique learned in the Army) Requires a black Sharpie:
1. For every round I unchamber (at the end of the day, everyday, for example), I mark it with a black sharpie
2. I move that round to the bottom of my mag
3. I repeat the above steps until every round has a mark
4. I repeat AGAIN until every round has TWO marks
5. When all rounds have cycled with 2 marks, I go to the range and fire them off
6. Load a fresh batch

Does it work? Who knows. I think it's a great method vs. increased ammo prices. Keeps costs down (because you have 2 full rotations ie. 10rd mag has a 20 day life, not too shabby.) Plus, I hate the thought of F2F in a dire situation due to 'old' ammo.

Yea, I would love a mossberg to carry around on my back 24/7. Haha.

I like the safe. It's good. I'm pretty sure there are better ones out there but for the price and convenience, nothing beats it.

My new 21 SF is posted in the toys thread...
