I have spent hours in that store looking at all the memorabilia. I'd love to add the autographed Mansell helmet to my collection of stuff. I think it's around 8K.

I just got my first diecast model. It was a present from my parents.

They got me a Hot Wheels 1:18 Batman Begins Batmobile:

Now I just need the alternate Camo version of this one I've seen floating around.

<~~~ not a fan of the hot wheels models.

Some of the new HW models are pretty damn good, like their Elite F40 and FXX.

So, for our two-year anniversary, among the 3 little gifts from the GF, one was a white AutoArt 1/18 Lamborghini Murcielago.

Damn, I love this girl.

I bought the previous bayside blue version for my bro-in-law for his bday.

I wonder what's different on this "upgraded" version.

Is the yellow Murcielago 1:18 scale? I've always wondered what the size differences were between the 2. I'm waiting for the 1:12 Murcielago Roadsters from AutoArt.

I really want to find a nice F40 model...........but all the ones I've seen are really expensive. Same with a Miura. I know they're WORTH $70, but I really don't want to pay that much.

Nope...collecting of diecast toys (of any type: be it cars, robots, planes) is not cheap. So, it is a matter of how much and how willing you are to ponying up the $$$...

That being said, as a collector, I believe nothing quite beats holding something like a well done diecast toy in your hands and admiring the finish, quality, detail, and the solid weight...

A Hotwheel Elite F40 won't costs you more than 60 bucks. And don't let the brand name fools you, it is just as good as any Kyosho/older AA models.

Demand continues to grow following the introduction of Tamiya's Collector's Club Series. Tamiya is now proud to present the newest addition to this line of premium semi-assembled models, the classic Porsche Turbo RSR Type 934.

About the Porsche Turbo RSR Type 934
Based on the Porsche 930 introduced in 1975, the Turbo RSR Type 934 was developed to compete in the Group 4 GT category of FIA races. Equipped with a high-powered flat-six turbo engine, the car came to dominate the production car racing scene throughout the world during the 1970's in the hands of many private racing teams and had many impressive performances, including a 2nd place finish at Le Mans 24 Hours.

About the Model
  • Ultra-detailed thanks to exact measurements taken during a thorough study of the actual car
  • Racing-ready body, flat-six turbo engine, and front/rear suspensions are all precisely modelled
  • Interior highlights including the rollcage are just like the actual car
  • Doors, front hood, and engine hood can all be opened to showcase the detailed interior
  • Moveable suspensions with metal coil springs
  • Model depicts the Jagermeister-sponsored Max Moritz Turbo RSR, which is particularly memorable for its vivid orange color scheme
  • Wooden display stand with mirror effect surface included
