^Yea those are pricey as hell. Beautifully done though.

I've never seen this thread so excuse my ignorance. I've been collecting model cars for 10 years or so, getting a few here and there. Right now I have about 50. 36 are in glass cases mounted on my wall and the others are strung around my room or in the closet. I'll try to take some pictures soon and include a list

Glad to hear the AM arrived Yum. I was wondering if you had received it yet.

I also have a new addition although I want to take my time and try to do some "proper" pictures of it. Technically speaking, I've actually already posted pictures of what it is.

Man some of those models are amazing.

My McLaren F1 LM is one of my favorite 1/18s but this one:

http://finemodelcars.com/hi-res/gall...aren_f1_lm.php

Totally puts it to shame. Granted it is a larger scale but still, I am drooling I would love to have one of those.

ok so the brand new Mythbusters episode (12/16) destroyed a 1/12th scale model car...did a little research, and it turns out to be a $400 Kyosho Lamborghini Countach.

here the video i took, sorry for poor quality, but watch him destroy the thing, knowing its value kinda bothers me. what a waste, why not buy a cheaper model car for this???

Question for the collectors who dabble in Kyosho: I've recently discovered a local store which carries some Kyosho (woohoo!) and found they have this: http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/d...duct_id=104763

...and this: http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/d...duct_id=104762

Both listed at $183CDN each. Now, I've never really bought "high-end" Kyosho and so, don't really know if that's a good price and if yes, which one would you pick?

Thanks!

I believe it's the standard manufacturing process for producing parts. Material (i.e the plastic) is fed into a heated container and forced into a molding where it is left to cool.

Nothing deeper than that, I don't think.

I will not disgrace LEGO by committing such a heinous act.

I did get a good laugh when I received a PM from a fellow AZer informing me that I wasn't using the proper LEGO logo for my avatar, which I was aware of. So I changed the avatar slightly so it's not exactly like the logo. Perhaps I should start inserting the ® anytime I type LEGO.

I don't know what the conversion rates are right now, but I would look up Kyosho's rates on their site, see if the items are being sold on eBay or other online retailers as comparison. That's how I went about purchasing my first model. Picked it up off eBay in the end saving about $15.

Picked up one of these guys ... http://www.autoartmodels.com/web/pro...5B9579534C8399

Not the best model out there, but certainly not horrible. The AutoArt display case I ordered arrived today. I'll post up pics when the model arrives. Other than that, didn't get anything for my bday other than a few small sentimental gifts from the wife. Wifey and I are saving for a house.

While researching this model, I came across a company I hadn't heard of before that makes diecast models ... http://www.mrcollection.com/default.aspx They also have, or I should say, had a Reventon model that is now sold out...

Oops, just realized that the lambo isn't my first diecast purchase.

A few years back I picked up the Aoshima Airwolf Diecast.
