"Land Of Mine" - A sad but extremely powerful and dramatic film about German teenage POW's clearing landmines from Denmark's beaches after WW2. Sorta like the "The Killing Fields" of land mine removal, but overall excellent film.
It's free on YouTube, and yes lots of explosions.

Watched Jack Reacher sequel.. Garbage. Action sequences were okay, but they neutered his character. There were so many cliche' / stupid plot wrinkles too. I hated it overall, and I like the original.

I didn't finish assassin's creed. I like the game series, but the movie really misses the mark. The plot is over the top. I just got bored after a while and went to sleep instead.

Yeah, both movies were meh. If I had to pick, the JR flick was better than @$$ Creed. The effects of the latter were nice but it was complete story-wise. Considering the actors they had, it's really too bad.

Got through 2 eps of Stranger Things season 2 which were very entertaining esp the intro scene of ep1. Because my gf doesn't watch that show we started up Mindhunter and that was really good as we flew through 3 eps. Very fucked up stories as it delves into the mind of psychopaths. This show is very graphic and not for the faint of heart. Finished the Deuce season 1 also. If you loved The Wire you'll love this show. It's a little slower IMO but still well done.

Finally got around to watching "The Hateful Eight", I thought it was very good (3 out of 4 stars).
Great story/cinematography/acting/direction.
I enjoyed it more than some of the other more recent Quentin Tarantino movies.

- Allied
- War for the Planet of the Apes

Both were good movies.

They've done a really good job with the Planet of the Apes reboot. All 3 movies have been solid.

I really liked the "Mindhunter" series as it tied old serial murderers with an attempt to create a science that predicted that kind of behavior. I shot through the series in a few days, wish there was more.

Thanks for turning me on to this series stogie, I've been looking forward to free time when I can watch more episodes.

And yes, "Stella Gibson," a/k/a Gillian Anderson, is def. the hawntess.

It's on HBO
They added it a couple weeks back

I just kept thinking about the scenes in the movie

So many layers but you think.. wait what about this, and you're like ahhh... right.. shit.
It really is brilliant.

Finally started season 2 of Narcos. If you haven't yet, it's an interesting biopic on Pablo Escobar and the journey of his attempted capture by the DEA and Colombian government. The writers do take some creative liberties, but it's mostly accurate from what I've read. There are even real news clips interspersed throughout to reassure you that shit actually happened that way.

Has anyone seen El Chapo? The series, I mean.
