Throw in some more doc's I liked

Dogtown and Z-Boys - Excellent Stacy Peralta about skateboarding in the 70's in California.

Riding Giants - another Peralta production about surfing the big waves of Hawaii and Mavericks

Fog of War - Excellent doc which is a series of interviews with Robert McNamara (Defense Secretary for Kennedy and Johnson).

That was good, I like the newer show produced by Bourdain... "inside the mind of a chef."

I'm pissed they took away "Avatar"(the series, not the crap movie) and "No Reservations."
"No Reservations" got me seriously into cooking and world cultures. Of course you can download it, but it's pretty tough to find them all, I want season 6 so bad, because he did my area.

I'm addicted to "Breaking Bad" right now, that show is like... meth.

Also I'm a nerd, with children, so I watched all of "Transformers Prime."

Ok although this was OP's post I guess we're dumping all REDBOX recommendations here as well. So someone recommend me a REDBOX movie or Netflix streaming movie. I'm leaning towards This is the End.

This is the End was funny, it's dry stoner humor though

Tried to watch it but the version I was given was crap

I thought "Hit and Run" (Netflix) was enjoyable.

The Lincoln is pretty bad ass.

Turn off brain, ignore the reviews and just watch it. I really think Will Smith turned off his acting to make his son's look better. But he is playing a super serious character, so its not that bad.

Redbox didn't have Pacific Rim and I wanted action so went with World War Z. The disc didn't work. I got a credit but went to my friend's to drink beer after contacting them. :redboxfail:

So some recent reviews, not necessarily from netflix... but you know.....places.
-Gravity 10/10, didn't find a thing wrong and it moved me.

-Captain Philips 9/10 solid acting, simple story, but imo a "guy movie." I liked it.

-Kickass 2 4/10 I hated this movie, it insults damn near anyone's intelligence.

-Open Grave(not in theatres yet) 10/10 guy from district 9 is in almost everything is
perfect. def. cerebral.

-2 Guns 9/10 definitely watch this... Lethal Weapon type of movie.

-Man of Steel going with an 8/10, it was much more interesting than I ever remember -Super Man being(I never "got it" as a child). My son(4) understood the movie and got the concepts. If anything he was too cool, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. That and the collateral damage.

-World War Z 8/10 solid zombie flick, but leaves a lot to be desired. Take it for what it's worth. I gave it an 8 from the standpoint of a zombie nut.

-This is the End 10/10 me and my wife agreed, funniest movie we had seen in years.

-Star Trek; into the Darkness 8/10 plot obvious, not as good as the first "new" trek movie. It was a coherent film though and did entertain me, but on a shallow level.

-Oblivion I give it an 8/10 as well, just because it was original and very clean/

-After Earth 7/10 Wasn't bad but wasn't anything great either.

-Exam (2009) 11/10 awesome cerebral movie, very simple low budget but great flick.

-White House Down 9/10 screw Diehard 5? idk, this is the new Diehard, great movie.

-Machete Kills 6/10 contrived but still in the "grindhouse" theme.

here's all my ratings http://www.imdb.com/user/ur25732271/ratings all 233(at the moment)

Just finished 'The Hunt'. It is a Danish film with English subtitles. Great acting from Mads Mikkelson (Le Chiffre from Casino Royale). Definitely worth watching.

American Hustle. Funny, well acted, great cast (Louis CK delivers probably the best joke punch line in the film), interesting plot. The whole thing. Although I'm not really seeing the hype with Jennifer Lawrence's role - she's good, but not great like all the press leads you to believe. She's not overshadowing Amy Adams or any of the other people.

Watched Flight a few weeks ago, it is a really good film, I very much enjoyed it.

Christmas Eve, I watched "Olympus has fallen" (Good action film, as long as you turn your brain off)

And "Man on a Ledge" (Pretty good, not quite what I expected, yet another mindless action film, really liked the way it was shot.)

You give Star Trek Into Darkness, Oblivion, and World War Z an 8/10 yet White House Down gets a 9/10? Da Fuq?
