Watched Europa Report this weekend. Not too bad. A bit slow but the documentary style kept me interested. But for a low budget sci-fi flick, not a bad way to spend ~90 min...

We watched Ex Machina over the weekend. FANTASTIC!

It's was well written, beautifully shot, the music was odd but perfect, acting was solid, and the concept was great.

Maybe he means watched in theaters..
Definitely low on the radar but high in reviews.. drafthouse promoted the shit out of it the past few months, so I knew it was going to be good.. it's in the queue.

Delivery doesn't matter here. This is a thread about watching movies at home.

I watched a movie at home, and when it's available with your preferred delivery method, I recommend it.

It's about renting or borrowing movies, no?

Well, Chad just "borrowed" it

I know this thread is about Redbox and Netflix, but I just watched this short fan film on YouTube, pretty well done, and the concept is intriguing

I watched a good movie, I recommended it. Nothing more need be said.

And that Dark Ages short is great!

Lol. Why is this so hard? Go ahead and remove half the posts in this thread for all I care.

All the Blurays, Blockbusters, Amazon Prime's, Hulu's, PSN, XBOX, Roku's, they all need to go. No?

Big theatrical releases get their own threads. And we discuss them... in their own threads. For everything else, the stuff we view at home, goes here.

I'm surprised there isn't an Ex Machina thread. I heard it's good outside of here.

All legal..

Why not create a thread for torrents.. you can vouch for good ones. etc.

I'm commenting on movies, like the thread dictates. You all are talking about torrents.

There is a problem here and it isn't me.

Shall we move on?

I was just under the impression AZ admins didn't want piracy discussed. I got temp banned 3 days in a video game developer's site because I suggested other people had pirated their game. Not even a warning

And just to appease the powers that be, I saw Ex Machina with a group of friends at a small second tier theater called Studio 35. It's one of the very few theaters that serves alcohol around here.

I commented here because 1) It's not in major theaters around here anymore 2) It didn't have it's own thread (that I'm aware of).

Both Europa Report and Ex Machina are available through Netflix on-line. I actually just subscribe to the on-line service, not the at-home delivery. So there is a legal means to watch these on-line through Netflix.

I just watched both recently. Europa Report is a "slow burn" (as one review put it) - interesting in the way it was put together (like it was filmed using on-board cameras only). Not a complete waste of 90 minutes. Ex Machina was also decent. Neither were life altering but solid entertainment.

It's funny because when I googled Ex Machina Netflix The Machine came up. It was an even recommended watch by a website after you saw Ex Machina.

Just watched Birdman. Had to see it since it won best picture.

Well, it is definitely... different. Much different then anything else I have seen for a long time. Good acting? Yes. It was much slower than other movies but it wasn't too slow. I watched it over two nights though because it wasn't doing much for me.

Overall, decent movie, but definitely something I don't need to see again.

Rented The Drop because it had Tom Hardy & Tony Soprano in it

Very strange movie to say the least
