I don't get it. Really.
Mravel doesn't even care about the Captain Marvel trademark. They just don't want DC using the name. So lame. Well see if they can finally make Captain Marvel (Marvel) as popular as Shazam (Captain Marvel of DC).

I wonder if that original comic group that created the Marvels feels pride in knowing people love the DC version and marvel hates it enough to purchase trademark rights to try and destroy it.

At 1:07 I seriously thought someone had spliced in footage of Rey from Star Wars.

Maybe I just need to stop reading comments on FB but WOW.. there's so much hatred/animosity towards Capt. Marvel citing political reasons and "Marvel pushing on us a crappy character"..

Having not read any of the comics and just basing this on the MCU, she sounds like a very pivotal part of the timeline and fight against Thanos.. what's with the hate?

Hater's gonna hate?

Same bozos that went berserk that Daniel Craig was announced to be Bond and the same bozos who rant and hate the new Star Wars...

People just gotta be outraged about something these days, right?

Because, being outraged is the new whey.

Personally, I'm outraged I'm not paid as much as Bezos. Or BoostedJack. Outraged, man. Outraged.

Hmmm... that part where they show her being mind-probed or whatever, by the Kree... I wonder if that ends up being the source of the "Project TAHITI" tech that they used on the Agents of SHIELD tv show, to bring Coulson back & wipe his memory?

Also, $10 says Fury loses the eye in this movie.

I like the trailer, but don't understand the continuity. If she is so badass to take on thanos and was found in the 90s, why didn't Fury call her for Avengers 1 or 2?

A nice, long read to hype you up for CM and A:EG. Good origin story about selecting the cast:

There's been a lot of chatter on FB about white males being 'attacked' and as such are boycotting the movie

Any one in here feel threatened by it?

There's a troll campaign against this movie. Just like with Black Panther.

They were bombing Rotten Tomatoes with negative comments and reviews weeks ahead of its release. RT eventually removed them and changed their policy to where no one could review a movie before its theatrical release.

Well...does she threaten men...? If not, then, well, she can threaten them gwai-ro all she needs...since it's only in movies that gwai-ros will ever be threatened.

It's pretty great. Some of the music choices feel a bit forced to push the decade...but otherwise really smart writing and interweaving the prior movies into this film even though its 24 years in the past.

I liked it!
It isn't a great Marvel movie. I thought the storyline was fine.
But the direction and dialogue was really flat in the first half.
It really felt like an episode of Shield the series in parts.

I also felt the social commentary was akin to Black Panther and dominated the story itself.
But there were definitely great scenes and a decent origin story.
I don't agree with critics that this is just a fluff piece for Endgame.
But I do expect Endgame to be epic.

Loved the Stan Lee cameo and dedication in the beginning
Read about it after you watch.
Apparently it made KSmiff a blubbering mess.

Saw it. Not bad.

Though, the outraged minority here will say yet again how wacist this movie is: OF COURSE it's a gwai-ro woman who saves a couple of people and a group of refugees/minorities.

Wacist!

My daughters loved it. I thought it was ok but I guess they're setting up next MCU phase. Who else gasped at the first after credits scene. And yeah the character at the end stole the movie I also loved Ben Mendelsohn as usual.

I kind of wished they swapped the end credit scenes, quite a number of people I spoke to said "God I wish I didn't want for that last one"
