Maybe they will go back and retell Death in the Family and show how Robin died.

I'd rather they just continue on from Dawn of Justice though.

I'm fine with either. But, I would hope they progress the story-arc...but, as a bonus, maybe they will have a flashback as to how Robin sold the farm.

I wonder who the villain will be since Suicide Squad has a bunch of them. I'd love to see Deathstroke!

when asked about his thoughts on Ben Affleck playing Batman, George Clooney responded by saying "I am the least qualified person to comment on anyone playing the role of Batman since I so terribly destroyed the part."

Question... Is suicide squad going to feature batfleck or a new batman or no batman at all?

Is it the same universe?

I ask because batfleck in bvs already lost robin we can assume to the killing joke storyline.
Maybe squad is before bvs? Or not in the same universe.

If it is the same universe then theyve got some story magic to create to bridge robins suit in bvs to joker im squad then to robin again if they bring him up in the stand alone.

Id personally like a new catwoman story dome tight... I mean right.

I always took a liking to borderline bad bitches testing the heroes resolve.

It's the same universe. You can see Batfleck in the Suicide Squad trailers. The newest trailer also shows that Suicide Squad occurs sometime after Man of Steel.

After MoS but before or also after BvS?

If it sits right between the two that would make sense.

But Id assume it cant be after since it would seem the Joker sint around anymore during BvS. But obviously was at one point. hmmmm

I think it is after BvS as there a few references that Superman is still dead.
watch some of the trailer breakdowns that are on youtube for the SS trailers.

Ben Affleck just tweeted footage of the villain from the solo Batman film

August 29, 2016

Ben Affleck just showed fans footage of major DC Comics villain who may appear in one of the upcoming Warner Bros. films. In a tweet sent out this morning, the actor-director revealed an early look at Deathstroke the Terminator approaching the camera and looking like the badass he is.

We have no way of knowing what the footage is intended for just yet, but Affleck tweeting it gives it an official air that suggests the studio has plans for the villain. (And he certainly looks better here than in the Arrowverse.)

Deathstroke, also known as Slade Wilson, is one of DC Comics’ most powerful and feared mercenaries. Thanks to an experimental serum, he has borderline superhuman strength, speed, and agility, as well as a healing factor. He’s also a genius-level tactician — making him an extremely formidable adversary for any one of DC’s superheroes. It’s reasonable to assume that the character will make his debut in next year’s Justice League, since that’s the only film in DC’s slate that’s currently filming. Of course, it’s also possible that this is just Affleck having fun. We’ll just have to wait for more footage from the film to come out over the next year. Justice League hits theaters on November 17th, 2017.

Update 11:45am ET: TheWrap has learned that Deathstroke will make his first appearance in the upcoming solo Batman film. The story has been updated to reflect the new information.

STephen Lang is being earmarked for Cable in Deadpool 2. but i read they are also looking at Liam Neeson, Dolph Lundgren Ron Pearlman and Kyle Chandler (completely odd choice that one)

Liam Neeson already fought Batman as Ra's al Ghul, so I doubt it.

Ben Affleck Steps Down From Directing Standalone Batman Movie | XFINITY
Quote:
The Batman has lost its director.

Ben Affleck was set to star, co-write and direct the standalone superhero flick about the caped crusader, but in a statement to E! News, the actor reveals such is no longer the case.

"There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions. Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require," the statement, issued Monday night, read.

"Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world," Affleck continued.

Not related to this movie but interesting:

Coolio Almost Played Scarecrow in a Schumacher Batman Movie, and We Are Losing Our Damn Minds

Quote:
The entire DC Universe was relieved when Joel Schumacher got sent to Arkham after Batman and Robin, guaranteeing he would never direct a Batman movie again. Well, now we have something to regret: Coolio could’ve been the next Scarecrow. What the hell, world—you’re making me regret not having another Schumacher Batman movie.

In an interview with the Burleson Star in Texas, Coolio said the only reason he agreed to do a cameo in Batman and Robin, where he played the “Banker” during Robin and Batgirl’s bike race, was because Schumacher had promised that he’d get to play the Scarecrow in the next film. Sadly, the studio scrapped the follow-up and fired Schumacher after B&R failed to meet box office expectations, leaving us forever wondering what Coolio would look like with straw in his dreadlocks (of course Schumacher would make him wear straw).

“He was supposed to do the two next ones,” Coolio said. “He and I didn’t get along that good anyway—I mean he made a terrible Batman movie. But the next villain was supposed to be the Scarecrow. They didn’t do it though. Maybe one day. I’m sure they won’t come calling, though.”

Of course, Schumacher might not have gotten the memo. Back in 2011, Schumacher said he’d talked with Nicolas Cage about playing the Scarecrow in his next Batman flick, tentatively called Batman Triumphant, and that he’d wanted it to be a gritty retelling of Frank Miller’s comic The Dark Knight Returns. Sure, Joel, we totally believe you... even though you said that three years after The Dark Knight came out.

In any case, it’s a classic example of what could’ve been. Can you just imagine Coolio bouncing around as the Scarecrow, rapping about “Gotham’s Paradise” as he traps Batman (likely played by Kevin Costner at that point) in a fluorescent green toxic gas? Jack Nicholson’s Joker would’ve been there too, as a drug-fueled memory, because according to Schumacher, Nicholson was still under contract and Schumacher doesn’t give a shit about anyone’s feelings.

Still, Coolio as the Scarecrow. Damn.

And related to this movie. Didn't real the full article:

Forbes Welcome

Quote:
As this week's announcement that Ben Affleck would step down as director of his solo superhero movie The Batman continues to reverberate through Hollywood and fandom, sources confirm the script originally penned by Affleck and Geoff Johns was rewritten by scribe Chris Terrio (whose Argo screenplay won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, and who did a page-one rewrite on Batman v Superman), but the project will undergo substantial changes and possible/probably another full rewrite. Warner Bros. is already speaking to several filmmakers about taking over in the director's chair -- including one of my personal longtime favorites to direct a Batman movie, Matt Reeves, who seems to be the frontrunner -- and word is the project will essentially get a fresh start once a new creative team has been put together.

Fuck no... thank god Coolio never got that opportunity...

Wow another rewrite... looking like Batman is going nowhere for a while... They really should have made a Superman 2, instead of BvS... they could have framed the movie for a BvS having an Batfleck cameo... then a Batman movie, then BvS which segues into Justice League.... but nooo Warner Brothers sucks at this.
