Here is the Hate Crew Deathroll album. Awesome start to finish. If I had to pick a favorite on it I would go with Angels Don't Kill.

Are artists/labels getting paid for music uploaded to YouTube? You'd think what with the whole war against online piracy that labels would be hyper aggressive with getting it taken down, especially on a place like YouTube.

btw just out of curiosity, is anyone a fan of Dragonforce anymore? I remember there being a period of time where nobody could stfu about them.... now it seems everyone has. I was never a fan of them, just curious to see if they fell into obscurity with the likes of Good Charlotte.

I've uploaded a few obscure songs and had the artists "claim" them. They can choose to have them removed, or have YT put ads on them and give them the money.

I guess they realized it's a losing battle trying to take everything down, and that people discover music on there. Seems like a win-win situation, especially for those of us with Adblock

Being a big music game fan I've seen a lot of videos taken down through the years. Warner Bros music was notorious. Mind you it's just a video showing a guy playing Rock Band expert drums on a difficult song thus making more people watch it and want to buy the song for the game and their mp3 player. One of the gamers created an account for YT called WMGisdildos.

Not trying to be an ass, but I cant stand Creed/Disturbed type shit. Definitely not metal or hardcore IMO.

How did you just compare Creed to music?

Drowning Pool, Godsmack, Korn, Disturbed, Sevendust, SOAD, etc, all in the same ass kicking nu-rock.

anyone on here seen the original ^ iron maiden frontman perform recently? He's gonna be in my neck of the woods in late May/early June. Thinking of checking it out so I can get my early iron maiden fix, although I'm sure his voice isn't what it used to be, and the performance won't be as fierce as the live maiden show i attended last year. Mostly curious about what the night might hold in store + my brother's bday is that weekend so it's a good excuse to step out for some drinks. Anyone?

Nu-Metal technically is a genre of metal although it has fallen out of favor with hardcore metalheads. Personally I listen to anything and still LOVE SOAD and some Disturbed songs. But then I can listen to Black Dahlia Murder or Hall and Oates.

Speaking of non-metal seeing Muse on Friday. Even Robb Flynn of Machine Head loved their show. Few more days.

^ indeed. Saw Muse open for RATM @ Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in 2011. I assumed they would put on a good performance to get everybody pumped up for Rage, but dang!...they nearly stole the show...they were awesome!! Lucky u.

Ditto. Just inquiring. I like paying homage to those that paved the way any chance I get. It's not often that I'm able to. Never had a chance to see Pantera perform. Always bad timing. Luckily I was able to see Dio with Heaven & Hell a few years before he passed.

Thx guys. I'm more pumped for the show. I don't want to cheat and go to setlist.fm to see what they've been playing although I have an idea of what they will play. I wish they'd play more stuff off Absolution. It's usually just Plug in Baby but I'd love to hear Hyper Music which has a nice distortion guitar sound and then lead right into Plug in Baby like on the album to some nasty distortion. Or maybe just throw in Bliss as well. It's going to be mamamamama mad mad madness.

Earth Crisis is hardcore. They pretty much influenced every hardcore band throughout the 90s.
Earth Crisis is known for supporting animal rights, promoting a straight edge and vegan lifestyle, and addressing further social and political issues. This is one of my favorites. It's from Ozzfest 96. The video is badly synched. If your into early hardcore check out their 'Destroy The Machines' album.

Another favorite 90s hardcore band is Strife. Powerful chords and heavy fucking break downs. This one of my favorites from their 1997 release 'In This Defiance'

Blistered

They didn't but out any new material from like 01-012 but still played many shows.
On February 1, 2012, the band announced that in a week's time they would be heading down to Brazil to begin recording an album called Witness a Rebirth. Guitarist Andrew Kline commented that the album would be "more along the lines of In This Defiance. It was also revealed that Igor Cavalera (ex-Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy) would be handling all drum duties for the album.

This is the single from the new album that came out in November. Still killing it after 20 years.

Man this thread is really taking me back to my early hardcore days.

This is one of my favorite bands. They came out in 92 and really paved the way for the way I look at music. His lyrics carry stong messages and he has one of my favorite screams ever.

Please check out their self titled album that came out in 96. Fucking amazing!

DTO- please check out the lyrics. Powerful.

Quote:
Get up, look around
And you will see the lies
That I see each and every day
I deal with them in my own way
I try to breed myself right
I try to breed my thoughts right
All you people stand against me
Your talk behind my back
The threat of your hostility
Induces my attack
What the fuck should I do?
To make myself a man
What the fuck should I do
I'm doing the best that I can
I'll never give up my pride
And I'll never surrender my hate
You on the opposite side
You're the one who made me this way
Suppressed anger for all these years now
Disgusting people, you stand and point at me
They are all but the pathetic
Embarking on a crusade that is so damn addictive
Therefore their prosperity
It will never ever be granted
What's up with this world?
What the fuck, I can't breathe
Pray for the forgiveness as you're stripped of your rights
White collared people always seem to decide
Ask yourself a question, do you need to conform?
With the brain-washing games that are engaged to restrain now
The power to cure the power to kill
The power is ours we'll use it at will
Worthless
Complexed is society, waging pressure upon our backs
And punishing our methods with their profits
These lashes killing and it pushes down, breaking our knees deep into the ground
And faulting, on the preside, once again I just can't decide
What's up with this world, what the fuck I can't breathe
Books of knowledge showing their glint forms of torture
Dropping the oppressor is our only solution
Psychanalytical ways will never ever succeed
In finding a way into our brains and motives
Our lives are neglected our thoughts are invaded
But we had fought for conformity?
Get up and step to conformity
This is not the end
Worthless

Bloodsimple is a Vision of Disorder side project started by the singer and guitar player. The bassist is the brother of Mastodon's bassist.

Beneath the Remains was the best Sepultura, IMO. That guitar solo on Mass Hypnosis gets me every time.

Their new singer is pretty lame. He tries too hard. I've read press interviews with him where he always gives one word answers and acts like he doesn't want to be there.

"So when you're not on the road or in the studio, what do you like to do with your free time?"
"I dunno. Stay home."

"Are you guys working on any new material?"
"Maybe."

I bet he sat there the whole time folding his arms, trying to scowl.

I didn't take a pic of it but I should have but that pyramid from the sky goes all the way to the floor. It literally was stacked on top of the band so they were hidden for a short while. With the different screens it looked amazing.

I know they're not Metal, but the discussion was in this thread. THey just announced Muse is coming to Pittsburgh, I got my presale floor seat tickets right at 10 when they went on sale

^Good man. They were just in Toronto last night. Saw some great pics. Wish I had the ability to go to another show. So fucking great. Take lots of pics please. Even though Muse isn't metal the crowd WILL mosh to Stockholm Syndrome. The group is so diverse you really can't pigeon hole them into a genre.

Lately been jamming In Flames, Between the Buried and Me, and Trivium a lot. Trivium the most popular of the 3 not as hard but have some great songs. I really liked their latest album In Waves. In Flames' album Come Clarity is in my rotation. BtBaM Greatest Hits is awesome. I will warn you that BtBaM is an acquired taste as they are prog metal. Some songs start hard as fuck then go down to a ballad within the 9 minutes or so and many time changes and crazy rhythms. If you liked Dream Theater and Opeth give them a whirl.

Speaking of Megadeth, Dave Mustaine tweeted out 2 days ago that he approved the final mix on the new album Super Collider.
