Let me know what you guys think.

ehh theyre poorly produced.. if they had better production or mastering of there tracks, i think theyd be reminiscint of poison the well. for now, :poo:

just saw this thread

after taking out my atb cd in the car tonight (guess i'll have to find the trance thread) i popped in a mix with carnifex, as blood runs black, white chapel, and august burns red. i dont listen to deathcore too too much, but i do get in the mood for the break downs. have these been discussed in here?...havnt really read through this.

& what do yall think of this year's warped lineup? a day to remember, the devil wears prada, a skylit drive, etc. that music fly in this thread?

this is pretty much the anything heavier then nickleback thread lol.. i dont think theres enough of us to really have a solid non nu-metal thread, so we work with what we got.

i enjoy old a day to remember. there new stuff is good, and its incredibly produced, but if you ask me, they went too soft with the vocals. just kills it in a way.. TDWP was discussed maybe two pages back? another run of the mill band for me.. enjoy some of there stuff, but it gets annoying over time. prolonged listening doesnt sit well with me.

im not really a fan of warped, too many sell outs, too many pre-teens. New England metalfest is what you should really look into. or cornerstone//download festival out in the midwest. NEMF doesnt travel like warped tour does, but they host 50+ serious artists every year. its pretty cheap as well, 120$ for a 3 day pass, or 47$ a day. so worth it.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Crowbar, Down, Black Label Society, Superjoint Ritual, and some old Metallica since I'm going to see them in concert next month

Thanks to Rock Band I've been listening to Megadeth - Peace Sells But Who's Buying straight through almost everyday. Them and All That Remains are in constant rotation in my mp3 player. I think Good Mourning/Black Friday is such a badass song. I made it my ringtone for when my wife calls.

Peace Sells is my fav Megadth album. You should also get Rust In Peace from them, Ride The Lightning from Metallica, Fabulous Disaster from Exodus, and anything from Slayer

I have Rust in Peace. I've only been able to listen to it at work so I can't concentrate too much on it. I have the song Ride the Lightning and have heard a few but yeah I need that.

Btw I know they aren't as hardcore as most of the bands on here but the new Chevelle cd 'Sci-Fi Crimes' is awesome. They're best since 'Wonder What's Next'.

Hell yeah, Dio-era Sabbath is better than Ozzy-era Sabbath, IMO. I love Heaven and Hell and After All (The Dead).

As far as Slayer, I only like their first few CDs. Show No Mercy was my favorite.

You going to see Hatebreed, Unearth, Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal, and Born of Osiris at Bogarts?

^Yeah, I'm f'in jealous. Tell me how their drummer does on the Peace Sells stuff. Does he play it the same as Gar or do his own style? I hope they play Good Mourning/Black Friday. Please try to remember what they play off Peace Sells and Rust In Peace.

the mere fact that there were a lot of black people in the video moshing to Slayer alone is funny as hell.

"check out my new gun!" and "moshpit for Jesus!" and the thought of anything Slayer being played in a church....

Dave Mustaine (singer/lead guitar/creator) of Megadeth is a born again Christian and won't play some of his old songs like The Conjuring.

You guys seen this yet? This was from one of the Sonisphere shows a few weeks ago. Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer (well, the drummer from Slayer) all performing together. It is the most metal thing to ever happen.

Trust me, that has been A LOT of people's reaction to this whole thing. There is a DVD of the show in the works, but it would've been awesome to see it live here.

Revival!

I am going to the Oh, Sleeper/Haste the Day show tomorrow here in Nashville. And about two weeks ago I went and saw Underoath (SUCKS!) and A Day to Remember. ADTR was amazing!

Interesting thread. I've heard/like most of the bands mentioned (for the best, see my avy ).

Any takers on these:

Death metal: pre-Chaos AD Sepultura, pre-Wolverine Blues Entombed, Nile, Bolt Thrower, Six Feet Under, Napalm Death, Obituary, Deicide, Unleashed.

NYHC: Pro-Pain, Biohazard, Madball,

Y'all hit most of the great regular metal bands (off the top of my head). What about Down, Nailbomb (I know, side project, but still), Revielle, Stuck Mojo, SOD, Cathedral, Testament, Entombed, King Diamond?
