Ok. Thought it was small because you kept saying "bone in ribeye for 2"

It's not the largest piece of meat you have had in your mouth (no homo) but it is a good portion and certainly the best tasting steak I have had. Also the service is top notch, the wine list is superb (esp. if you like Italian wine) and the place just feels "right" to me. Not too stuffy and old world and not too modern and trendy. Batali does it right.

So I should just get a single bone in rib eye unless I'm with someone or pay someone to join me

Bring a date. The regular ribeye is bone out, but is also delicious. The bone in is their signature cut, though.

When it comes to Ribeye (which is the best steak....fillet is for suckers)....and when given the choice...always go bone-in.

Got back on Saturday, been busy with the family since then.

Checked into the Palazzo on Sat. 25th. Got led to a young male clerk on one side by himself. Gave him the $50 sandwich and asked for a room with a nice view. He immediately knew what was up. The strip view rooms normally go for about $50 per night more than the rear rooms. Worked like a charm. He was very discreet about taking the $$ but he gave us a 40th floor room overlooking the TI pirate show. We stayed 5 nights so that $50 saved us about $200. Could I have gotten the view room if I just asked? Maybe, but if he had told me no at first it would have been hard to give him the $$ after the fact. It took them about an hour to get our room ready so we went to lunch at Grand Lux cafe while we waited.

Monday: We checked in and ate at Grand Lux. Very good, hot and quick lunch.
Went to walk Venetian a bit and gambled (slots) a bit. Went to cocktail reception for the convention I was attending. Early to bed that night.

Tuesday: Got up early, went to some convention stuff, out by 1 pm. Wife went to a luncheon and tour at the Wax museum with the wives. Went to lunch at Postrio in Venetian, pretty good. Met up with the wife and we walked the strip for a while, I drooled at every watch store I could find. We had a cocktail reception for the convention at the Jersey Boys theatre and then watched the play. I loved the play, thought it was great! Wife and I had a late dinner at Otto in the Venetian, played a bit in the casino. Went to bed early.

Wed: Got up early again and went to the convention vendors show. Met up with the wife for more shopping. Ate lunch at a mexican rest. at the Forum Shops. I went to the Pole Position cart track with some of the guys for a while. It was pretty fun even though we all got smoked by an 11yr old girl. We had dinner in a private room in Bouchon at the Venetian, party of 27. We had a pre determined menu of a few choices. I had the filet, which I ordered medium and it was RAW in the middle. Same for my wife. Everything else was good and the wine was flowing. After dinner we headed down to Mandalay Bay. A couple of my partners are members of the House of Blues Foundation Room so we went to chill up there at the top of MB. After we headed to Lavo at Palazzo and partied until very late. No more convention for me, LOL.

Thurs: Slept late, went down to Fremont Street to walk around. Went to do some shopping at the Premium Outlets. Wife picked up a couple of dresses and we did some serious damage at Ferragamo. We went to see LOVE at Mirage. Thought it was good, but enjoyed Jersey Boys more. After the show, we headed down to MB again to eat at the Burger Bar. Wife and I split the kobe burger. MMMMM, good burger. We were supposed to go to XS but wound up meeting some friends at PH and hanging out there.

Fri. Slept late, went to look around at Wynn and Encore. Ate lunch at a small cafe at Encore, was not impressed with my $23 club sandwich slider and chop salad. Went to the closing gala for the convention and hung out at a cover band bar that night. By this time the halloween costumes were starting to come out. OMG!! That's all i'm gonna say about that. We had planned to get bottle service at Vanity at HR but everybody was pussing out. Was kind of upset but oh well.

Sat: 10:45 am flight home.

WTF you missed out on the scantily clad hotties massaging each other in bathtubs covered in rose petals at TAO?!? Jackass

How was Lavo? Is it more club or ultralounge?

How come you didn't get the buffet at Wynn?

Grand Lux's brunch buffet is decent. Apparently same company as Cheesecake Factory. It's a good place to get a quick bite when I'm staying at Venetian.

No problem on the Delmonico. Got one here in nola. LAVO was not a HUGE club but had a good size dancefloor. I was really bummed that we didn't go to TAO or XS. That's not really my wife's thing but next time I go to vegas it will be withoujt her. Already trying to plan a guy's trip.

South to North..

Mandalay Bay, aquarium

Excalibur, joust match (hazaa, eff that personally...)

Luxor, ride the elevator

Hawaiian marketplace (strip just south of Harmon, east side of LVB)

City Center, brand new, shopping new casinos, etc.

MGM, lions eating tourists, staff, etc.

(Now you are at Tropicana Blvd and the fun really starts...)
Palms (off strip) Playboy Club. Like you need an explanation...

Hard Rock (off strip other direction from Palms) - cool collection of Rock stuff. Lots of good looking girls.

NYNY, roller coaster

Planet Hollywood - No redeeming qualities...Nothing to see, move along. OK, a shit ton of stores you already have at your local mall at home. Like I said.

Paris - Eifel Tower. Yay. Nice view of Bellagio fountains.

Bellagio - Fountains. Go into the lobby (check in area) and look up. Also, keep walking in (straight) and go into the season theme area. Pretty cool. Some good food. The bar/casino has a lot of female women who do stuff for money around 2AM. I am just saying...

Caesars - Food, shops, statues. Go here.

Imperial Palace - DO NOT go here. unless you are on the other team. Then definitely go here.

Mirage - Good place. Watch the volcano erupt. Yay. Good casino, decent food, crappy lobby bar. The really good looking black girl at the bar... She's not a girl. Check out the fish tank at the checkin counter and the hidden gardens in the back of the property (not to be confused with Olympic Gardens, getting there...)

Venetian/Palazzo - (my favorite) - Great food, good gambling, gondola ride, shopping, people. Eat at Carne Vino in Palazzo (a little hidden). Best steak I have EVER had. Get the ribeye for two. Ask Kirk for a wine recommendation. Sit near the bull if you can.

Treasure Island - under no circumstances should you gamble here. Watch the effing pirate show (hourly).

Wynn/Encore - go here and look around. Great food, good gambling. If you like French food, Try Daniel Baloud ( I am messing up the spelling).

Stratosphere - Ride the roller coaster. Don't get mugged.

Old Downtown - Really fun, especially if you want to play all day and not dump a load of dough. Some of the themed dealers at Binions, etc. can't count, so I recommend blackjack. I think they think the game is played to 23. Woot. Check out the light show on the ceiling every (half?) hour.

Strip clubs:
Spearmint Rhino - top notch
Olympic Gardens - Excellent
Saphires - Haven't been since it opened. Giant. The place, not the girls. Well maybe, if you are into that...

What did I miss?
Oh, at 5AM head to Drais. Just ask around.

You're welcome.
Nice job, Stogie! I'll be using this list when I go there next spring with my wife!

In it's place (quality, price point, etc.) I recommend Le Cirque at Bellagio. Fan-fugging-tastic duck. Also, lot's of people eat there who either kill people for a living or pay people to kill people for a living.

One of those places where people look at your table to see who you are in case they recognize you from TMZ or Forbes or minimum security government "retreats" for billionaire tax evaders.

Staying at the Bellagio and set up reservations for Prime and TAO. Also, going to see "O" and take a helicopter to the Skywalk.

Has anyone done the Exotic Car Driving Experience at the speedway? It's two hours and I don't want 1.5 in a room with no real driving. Not sure if 5 laps is worth $300 just to drive an F430.
