335i usually run about 13.4.-13.5 at give or take a bit 104mph, so that 335xi needed driver mod FOR SURE.

I'm impressed and have told a lot my buddies to check our RSX as it's amazingly quick. Well done and great kill, I really really wanna run you, wish you were more local.

Not the N55 and not on a base map with pump gas.

He was going 13.2 @ 106 the same day I was going 13.8-13.9 @ 103-104 my first time at the track with the car.

pretty impressive runs, as always.

My good friend has had a couple of RSX-S's and I will say from a roll they can do some damage with work and a tune for sure. This video doesn't surprise me too much because the runs were from a roll. They just are so rev-happy. the 1/4 mile comparison is tough because it's hard to get an RSX out of the hole where the 335 is AWD and making peak torque so low in the rpm band. Any time I've driven those cars even on the freeway just cruising - I never hit 6th because if I had to hit the gas, the car doesn't go anywhere. It really doesn't pick up till 4k.

always fun to watch these vids

Xi is a bit slower on a roll than an i. There was an N54 Xi at my track trapping only 99-101, but I hear the N55 is a little stronger once it hits triple digits.

Nice runs, Yonkers.

Haha yep, they don't make much torque unless you swap in a K24 bottom end, which would limit your revs a bit. Give/take relationship.....but yeah, when we went to the track he would stretch me bad. He had the same setup and my setup was just simple I/RH/E/RBC/KPRO.....RBC is the OEM manifold off the 06-09 Civic Si and KPRO was tuned by Chris Harris @ Xenocron tuning. The day we went my best was a 13.80 @ 104.35, I've yet to come across a DC5 that has trapped that high with as little mods as I had. I know people have ET'd faster, but I was on street tires and a stock clutch/cmc. Now I have Omni CMC which moves the slaves 2x as fast so my issue getting into 2nd gear isn't as pronounced as it was. It was pissing me off at the track b/c I knew it wasn't my driving, just hte K series trans is not the best, especially 2nd gear.

The car is still on a stock clutch/flywheel with the new cams/intake setup, so I am sure once I swap that out the car is going to feel and move a lot better b/c it will grab the next gear, not slip and the lighter flywheel will make the car rev faster, which is always good for an all motor car.

Here's a vid before I did the cams and new intake setup -

Car was still quick, but you can see he had me MPH wise, there was nothing I could do, lol.

But yeah, like you said, they need to be above 4-5K RPM to get moving. Powerband is whenever VTEC kicks in, till redline...rinse and repeat.

I think it's the opposite, they haven't really found out how to tune them and make power properly. At least from what I have seen, my buddy Bren @ BrenTuning tunes these cars all day. I went up maybe 2 months ago with my friends N54 335i Sedan. 50/50 e85/93, filters, downpipes, bigger intercooler, cobb accessport pro-tuned by Bren it put down 466/525 on stock turbo's....we've yet to track it, they have some issues with the fuel pump but will figure it out.

Basically my point is, I haven't seen many N55's over 400whp that easily. If I had to guess, my buddies car in this video was making 330-350whp at best. Then again it's a N55 w/ stock intake, stock intercooler, on 93 pump gas just running a Vishnu map, instead of being pro-tuned.

This vid I posted in Post #6 is wrong, it's against my other buddies N54 335i

This is a vid of my buddies N55 335xi when it was stock and before I did my cams/intake setup and any weight reduction mods -
