WRX falls
Just ran a blue 3G WRX hatch. Mods unknown, but quiet exhaust. I follow him left onto the four lane and he's driving aggressively. Last set of lights we're both in the passing lane and he has one car ahead of him. Light turns green and he ends up going around the first car on the inside. Then the car gets over and I give WRX guy a little second gear headlight tilt and he slows down. I swing over into the right lane and drop to third, but he jumps and then slows down. Then he does it again and I just give him the half car. Doesn't really matter. I walk him hard through third and fourth, letting off wherever fourth ends with the modded FP base map. 125 ish?
First run against a WRX in seven years owning this car. All I can say is those things are dog ass slow from a roll when stock, which I'm assuming this one was.
Mods in sig, 200 lbs weight reduction and running Flashpro modded base map (tuning with Vit, but i switch back to the base map in between logs for now)

Funny story.
Tonight, I'm coming home from the gym around 11:15. Traffic is dead. I see a blue WRX merging from the left and he appears to be waiting (he had plenty of time to merge; it's a 30 mph 4 lane). He merges next to me and there's a light 100' later. Now we're sitting at the light and I'm not even considering provoking him since it's 34 degrees out and I'm on summer tires (they hook worse than all-seasons below 45-50 degrees). Anyway, once the light turns green and we ease out, he double clutches ~ 5mph and jumps out pretty hard. I just let him go. I've tried launching 1st in the 30's on these tires and it's pointless. So I flash my lights to tell him to wait, since we're almost to the freeway and what does he do? He makes an illegal left and takes off.
Pretty sure it was the same dude. Blue 3G hatch, quiet exhaust, same first three plate digits (not sure on the rest). Plus the fact he apparently didn't want to go at higher speeds. And really, most WRX guys probably aren't leery of Accords/TLs unless they've been burned by one at higher speeds. I'll have to start paying attention. I'm sure I'll see him again!
And on a related WRX note, I walked an older one Friday night from 70-105. Believe it was a 2G (older style but non bug eye lights). I was data logging two back to back 3rd gear pulls for Vit and after scouting my normal spot I got off the 4 lane to go back and do the first log (already had the tune loaded). Getting back on the westbound ramp, I see lights coming up in my rearview FAST. I ease into it a little as I'm coming out onto the highway and he comes out into the passing lane. His exhaust is pretty loud. I downshift at 70 and he does too. We go to ~ 105 and I'm able to put my back bumper about even with his front bumper, so about a car length. Then we come into the city and he does the typical darting from lane to lane to lane. I think he was a little punch drunk and teary eyed after getting pulled on by a grocery getter, lol.
I will say that calibration felt weak. The car feels stronger with the modded base map. He certainly put up more of a fight than the stock appearing 3G.
