If the CL would win, what would the TL need to beat it? I did search before posting this and couldnt find anything. the CL is an automatic, not the 6 speed version either. Thanks

kindof a pointless thread for obvious reasons, but I'll bite.

Is the CL a type-s model? If so, it would win with ease.

a base CL vs a 2000 TL is a crapshoot given automatic transmissions. It's so close that to try and justify one winning against the other is utterly pointless.

Just go race, because both cars have basically the same engine, power, and drivetrain.

Both are base cars right ?
Strip your trunk and all interior except drivers seat and you should kill the stock cl.
All base cl's,and most likely stock cls auto's too.

Dropping weight in your case goes from a fair race to see ya off the line,mid and top end with no money added.

I have a base cl and I don't have a problem waxing 400hp+ full weight cars.
Countless v8 have taken losses.
Everytime I pull up to the staging light and see a stang or camaro or what ever I'm expecting a loss but,It usally gets dusted unless it's a full race car with cut rearend making retarded hp and I owe that to my weight reduction.


For example This mustang was trying to toy with me on the street and sounded sick but I did not mess with him I had my son in the car.
The last time I went to the track I was waiting in line to run.
And the same dude pulled next to me real fast.I could tell he was chuckling with his buddy while looking at my car.
I did a rolling burnout,he was melting his tires till the car was going sideways.
Light went green and he was instintly left sleeping.
By the end of the 1/8 it seamed like he was like 6-8 cars back easy.
I pulled back in line to run again and was waiting for him to pull up on me again.he slowed going by me looking at my car and as soon as I made eye contact with him He just looked away and I could see his pride fold.Their was no more chuckling

sorry guys, this is my first post in this section, im still new with this, but i wasnt trying to troll, i promise. I figured you guys would know best.
his is a base 03 cl auto
and mine is an oo base tl-p
i was mostly looking for suggestions of what would the best boost of acceleration like headers, new intake, exhaust.
I appreciate the help!

I think most of the guys here would just suggest you ask something like that differently. If you want suggestions on hardware just ask for them & in most cases you will get an answer.

If you want to know who will win X or Y, just man up & run for fun.

That being said, welcome to the forum.
