do not do it !!!
more than the power he is RWD and his launch (if he knows how to) will itself put more than a car length on you....you will be giving someone your car for practically free....
EDIT: Justn, even at 450 HP how much are you putting down....you will keep spinning at the line....to overcome all that he needs to do a lot....recently saw a RSX-S thread with a turbo who is putting down 650HP and is gutted....and he was running 11.9 @ 123 at the track....so this dude should put down almost 650-700HP to overcome thE FWD and AUTO disadvantage.....

If that is true then he needed a driver mod.... very very badly.

Yeah, right.
I'd like to see him do that at a 1/4-mile strip from a standing start.

I was there last week when he ran that time. The guy's name is Jeff he's a real good guy. Anyway, I will say that it is incredibly hard to launch those cars let alone with 650 who I should know I used to have an RSX. I think he posted a video of it and it was actually a really good launch but he was spinning almost the whole time. Just to show it doesn't matter if you have 1,000 who if you can't get that power to ground it's pointless. Fwd FTL.

THIS !!!
as i mentioned its not the HP...its how much and how effectively you can put that HP down....thats why the whole launch control was developed....
PS launching a RWD drive with less HP is easier and quicker than launching a FWD with more power....and at a point when you have soooo much power, launching it becomes further more difficult....

With that said, FWD cars with much less power/weight than him run much better times with good tires and good launches. I could just as easily throw out a bad run for a high horsepower RWD car.

Although .3 seconds isn't all that much I'm sure you did keep up with them, I can just say confidently that my car has never run that slow. I've timed it a bunch of times out of boredom (full gas, full trunk) and it has always run 6.0 to 6.1 every time. Thats all.

The TL may keep up .. but not at the track! All these videos are roll racing .
The simple fact of the matter is this: Mix FWD with the power needed to keep up with an ISF and you're going to be seeing taillights until it's too late.

All motor
The whole point behind this is it's only 1 race. If you fcuk up, bye TL. You can most certainly beat an IS-F at the drag strip with a properly set up turbo TL, whether 5AT or 6MT. You'd need over 400whp, slicks, suspension, axles, J&R ECU, and the driver mod. It can be done.
Whether you want to take the risk is up to you. I believe Libert ran mid 12s @115-116 in his 5AT turbo TL, pushing (if I remember correctly) just under 400whp. It's your car.

Lol that's my cousins tl on nos vs that isf. It's very much doable with nos and slicks. If u want to win bad enough you can make it happen.
U need a two phase nos system for the track. 75 shot for launch then 150 shot. He had 75 on foot pedal. Then the switch over ride the 75 and activates the 150. (I believe he was doing 100 then 200... But tuned very rich and it was his toy car) he blew the 5at motor and replaced it with a tl-s motor for 900 from junkyard
With 8k, you can do all the weight reduction, borrow slicks, and blow multiple motors. Swap took him 4 hrs
Just sayin... Gl with putting this douche in check

The quickest S/C TL on this site ran 13.1@107 i believe which is not too far off from a STOCK IS-F which runs high 12s stock @110 i think it would definitely be possible with a turbo TL assuming the IS-F is stock

LOL some of you are funny. How many of you in here actually have gone with the boosted route from an N/A engine? I am not talking about Civics with Ebay kits. Eight grand is a lot but once you boost it correctly (assuming in order for an auto TL to keep up with the IS-F), it will be more than eight grand and that's with self installations, self tunings, plus a final tuning + dyno session to make sure. Well, of course if you can find a ghetto shop.

Hello guys it's that fun Friday again... did ya miss me?
stock ISF can get down to 4.3 sec 0-60. And don't forget, your TL-S is AUTO, so that's 6.3- 6.5 sec.
I have hot ass.
maybe good idea. play safe
you said nothing.
Yes... IS-F gets faster at higher speeds.
i like it for breakfast. Egg and strawberry jam.

IS-F runs at mid 12's average. 12.3 being best stock. Trap upto 115~ 116 mph. Your comparing modded TL's best time against the worst time on IS-F... change it the other way around and you will see over 1 sec difference in ET and 12 mph difference in trap. You must be new.... hahahaha

OP.. don't be dumb. If you dumped 10k to get the turbo, 100 hours to strip it down. Another 10k for incidentals and 6SP. You'd at best run low 12's.
The thing about the IS-F is it's not mod friendly so adding a turbo or s/c is unrealistic and costs too much for such little gain. The bad news is, it can handle nitrous fairly well. He runs wet and he's in the 11's.
So you're $25k TL-S with $20-25k in mods is gone. Might as well buy something that's just as slow yet much cheaper to mod and has 10sec potential and see if he bites.

I had a non type s 2005 tl, JPIPE, Exhaust cut out, Test pipe, intake, spacer, ported intake and runners.. 130 shot wet. a safc piggy back thats it!! NOt that it made a difference. Ran a 12.7 114mph. FIrst run.. did a 1.8 60 ft.. too. I didnt even use slicks to run it.. Nitto Drag on 20psi
IT ran better on the street though.. Im sure the car can hit mid 12's.. I got kicked out for running it with my ac on.. Dripping water down the track. My fault on that.. The best thing was i was full interior.
I dont brag about the potential of a acura tl much.. but i have to say, its a pretty underestimated car..
It reacts to nitrous quite well.. TOrque on it is pretty nasty.. I rem when i did a dyno on the130 shot.. it did a lil over 350. with 365+ on torque.
If u want fast, be like me and buy yourself a vette.. SO easy and cheap to mod.. To get it to run 10's all day is sooo easy
