They're actually 17x6.5. Even worse! I have the same wheels on my 06 6MT. They look great, but are REALLY heavy, even for a skinny 6.5in wheel.
General exclaims huh? Are they all season or just summer? I was looking at the Toyo Proxes 4 (all season) 245/40/18 because I plan on getting RPF1s. They weigh in around 25.4lbs or so in that size. I've heard they are good tires but if the Exclaims are that much lighter...the RPF1s in 18x9.5 +45 are 18.6lbs....hehehehe.

My 18s are right at 18lbs each, the 350z track editions are forged rays! (but they are only 18x8)
Lighter street tires aren't always a good thing for lowering your 60' in a high powered FWD car with an MT. Sometimes they'll just spin more off the line and have the opposite effect, and once you're moving, the few extra pounds of a heavier tire aren't that significant anyway. I'd look more closely at the tread pattern and compounds than weight.
Plus, the lighter the tire, the thinner the sidewall. A friend had the Continentals in 235/45/17 (22lb tire) and they started bulging in the sidewall after a few thousand miles.

The sidewalls on the exclaims are soft, but not "thin." I've gone through many sets with no premature failures other than caused by nails. When at lower pressures (25-28psi), these tires will absorb more drivetrain shock and get better traction due to the sidewalls flexing. This is also bad for the autocross type because they will squirm some under hard braking and are a bit slow on turnin. However, in straight line acceleration, they work great.
That run was done with I/H/E and a tune (UTEC) on a stock clutch that was near the end of its life. Just to contrast, the 1/8th mile on that run was 8.613@84.52 on a 0 DA and I've more recently done some 8.2s@85s in a 1800 DA.

My quad ATLP V2 is en route here. Let's see what this will do.
P2R TB spacers and engine torque damper also on it's way.
Hmm going to do master slave cylinder they said this improve a lot on high rpm shifting.

Certainly! Sonnick was telling me about the delay in shifts because of the stock slave cylinder and I can tell ya for sure that I gain a solid 2mph at the track just shifting very fast (or power shifting) vs more "normal" fast shifting.
