Thanks man. I was impressed with the Hankook Ventus V4s today.

Yea I'm on 215/55s. Next season I'm going to get 225/45s which will help my gearing. The larger tire is hurting my ET/trap slightly. In all honesty, I haven't missed 4th gear in an eternity. Then of course on my best pass....lol. Probably would've been a 13.4x. Dare I say 12s is possible in the right DA with smaller wheels/tune? The DA today was 1350ft...

Dude the 3.7 manifold is no joke. Last time I trapped 102.09 and this time 103.9. I can't attribute all the MPH gains to the 3.7 setup though (although I think 95% of it is). I also had my buddy install new OEM mounts and we fixed my leaking front downpipe. But yea, the 3.7 manifold/TB is where it's at!! I'm still a little confused how the last 2 runs I trapped 84+ in the 1/8th and gained just under 20mph in the back end. I've always gained 21+ in the back end...seemed strange. I'm not complaining!

Well first time driving the TL at the strip. Must say it is a little bit tricky for to launch the car.

It is a N/A application full bolt ons, and my best 60ft was 2.2secs. So it sucked my goal is to reach the 2.0 mark or so and then we are talking. Best time was a 13.7@104mph at Bradenton, Florida. With slightly less than half a tank on gas and full interiors.

It was around 75degrees and humid. Trap speeds were consistent around 103 with 2.3 on the 60ft and then 104 with 2.2 on the 60ft. If i get a 2.0 it will be around 13.5@105mph. Slowly getting there but the power is amazing on that car.

Went back to the track Friday. Meh.....didn't do as well as I had hoped. I was on my 16s and DRs, and did my burnouts in the water box. I was unaware that I should just roll through and then do the burnout. Definitely impacted my 60' as my 'best' of the night was a 2.28 (smh). My tires were probably still wet.

Runs were 14.12, 13.97, 13.9, 13.83, and 13.77. Traps were 101.x, 102.78, 103.73, 104.04, and 104.21. Although I'm disappointed, I know what to expect next time. It was only my 2nd time on DRs. I will post the vids.

I wanted to talk to him after to ask if he was stock and be like "good run man," but Idk if he was having it. Figured I'd just let it go. I assume it was stock though. I should've power shifted.

Nice runs bud! You are gaining 22.5+ MPH on the back end. Very nice! Drop those 60fts down and it will be money!

How close were you to the Vette, like your front bumper on his door? Was he auto or manual? Still pretty remarkable that you can hang with America's sports car with just basic bolt ons, especially considering the C5 was still in production when the 7G Accord was out. It's not like we're talking about an 8/9 G Accord hanging with a C4.

We were dead even the entire time until I shifted to 4th. I was just behind his door when we crossed the line. I wanna say it was stick, but I really don't know. Pretty sure it was stock though.

Good consistent runs, you will do better once you get those tires dialed in right, 2.2-2.3 60fts definitely leave a lot of room for improvement so don't even stress these runs, that's why they call em test and tunes right? I expect to see some 13.20-13.30's once you get the 60ft down to a 1.8-1.9....MPH is there. Weather still should be decent for another couple weeks before it starts to get really hot out, if you were looking to go back, I'd go in the next 2 weeks or wait until the Fall when it gets colder out.

So yesterday my friend and I decided to go to Capitol Raceway in Crofton Maryland to see what we would run. Him in a 2005 RSX Type-S and me in my 2007 TL Type-S. With a half a tank of gas in my car and $20 bucks in my pocket I thought why not.

My mod list:
2007 TL Type-S 6spd 105,611 miles
Ingen Cold Air Intake
Stage 4 exhaust mod (no resonator or mid muffler)
ASpec suspension
Volk TE37 17x7.5 w/25mm spacers
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 235/45/17

Capitol Raceway is probably at sea level and it was a cool 74 degrees. So my first run of the night launching at 3,000 rpms I run a 14.2@103MPH, Hmm not bad I thought to myself. The worst run of the night was a 16.0@90MPH I left traction control on and was spinning into third gear. Then finally the sweet spot the best run of the night. Launching at 2,500 rpms hitting every gear perfect (no clutch slave mod) I run a 13.7@102MPH. Not a bad night if I do say so myself, the ol' girl has some pep in her step still. Anywho here is a pic of her and the time slip. Cheers!

Nice run. You trapped 103 with just an intake and lightweight wheels? Not bad. Any weight reduction?

Nope I had everything in the car including the spare tire and a car seat base. My best trap of the night was a 104.

Hmmm....definitely seems a bit high. There are only 2 other Type S 6spds to trap 103-104 and they are basically full bolt on. And although I have an Accord, I'm full bolt on making 270whp and probably 300lbs lighter trapping 103-104.

Maybe I have one of those inspection motors, were they build it to a T.

All my time slips were in the 100mph except the one 90mph.

I don't doubt you trapping over 100. 104 just seems high, although there are rumors Capital Raceway is downhill

Damn, it is a bit downhill. There appears to be a fairly significant downgrade for the last maybe 500' or so? Slip is still pretty solid with a 2.1/8.9 @ 80 mph 1/8 though. And the 2.2 seconds seems to be inline with your 1000-1320', Sonnick. Interesting. It's not like he's picking up some crazy 24-25 mph on the back end, either.

Yeah, I want to hit Lebanon this year for sure. Is it a decent track? I think they do T & T every Wednesday if I'm not mistaken.

Now that it has been used a few times, it should be better. Last time I ran the opening week last year, and it was slick as hell. I just could not get better than 15.8@90 in my tsx. I was running consistent 15.0@89 in the auto TL later that year. Wednesday are test/tune nights. I think they do all day Saturday also, but I have never been, I always have my kid on the weekends. Hoping to get high 13s with the TLS with j pipe. That took a solid .3 off the auto TL's time.

14.6@98 was my best tonight in the '08 TLS 6spd, so stock it hurts. Got six runs in tonight at LVD. Beat my buddies Mazdaspeed3 two out of three. Beat a mustang (My first, and def not last), and got beat by a 11.8 turbo integra twice. 2.4 60ft.

Besides being at or near sea level, that area has some very good air in terms of DA (density altitude). Triscuit Im guessing was there on a night with a negative DA, good track prep, good driving on his behalf and a good running car..... those things added together can easily add up to an extra couple MPH on the big end. There is a track local to me that many people claim has a slight "downhill" factor. I have made 100+ passes there as well as 100+ passes at two other local tracks and my car was always pretty consistent providing equal weather and track prep.

Went back to the track tonight. Got 11 passes in. Best pass of the night was a 13.54 and the best MPH was 104.48. 7/11 runs had a 2.16 or lower 60', so I was happy about that. Finally able to consistently pull decent 60's. I still feel like I should be pulling consistent 2.0s, and some 1.9s, but hopefully that will come.

Below is one of the many videos I am uploading on my YouTube channel (Sonnick - subscribe ). I met a guy there with a 6spd Accord sedan, so we did a couple runs. Mods are in the vid, he was very lightly modded.

Got a 14.1@101 with 2.2 60ft at Lebanon Valley few weeks ago. Was still running 14.6 and another guy with a silver 2g 6spd TL or CL, which ever is two door, CT plates, suggested I air down my tires a bit, and then I ran the 14.1 I think there is one more Wednesday, and I have a free day from getting rained out two weeks ago, so I plan on running once more this season, weather permitting, I want 13s bad.

Mods: 08 TLS 6spd with XLR8 jpipe, ATLP V2 exhaust, and some Hondata tuning.

^ Good job man. What were the conditions like? Make sure you are shifting at redline!

You should go back on a cool night, like in the lower 50s or even 40s. I'm waiting until it gets a bit cooler so I can attempt to become the fastest all motor stock motor J series car. I know there was a TL that went 13.30 and a CL-s that went 13.3x. There is also an 8G Accord that went 13.2x I believe. And once the h _ _ _ s go on I will be making that 12.9x pass!

LVD is always hard to get a good launch at. Track prep leaves a lot to be desired, but Im not complaining. It was 67* and still a bit humid here, when I ran that. Should be colder on Wednesday, and I will probably air down more than last time. Did 30psi, will try 25-26. I still need to do the slave cylinder mod, I get slip trying to hammer gears.

25 is good. I wouldn't go any lower than like, 22 on a street tire though. You should have no problem getting into the 13s @102-103 in cooler weather.

Good sh1t man! Also, put your rears up to like 40, helps with rolling resistance. Won't make a big difference, but you may be a tiny bit quicker in both ET and trap.

My rears were at 38-39 so already did that lol Is there really anything I can do, short of sticker tires, to get that 60ft down? I just roll it off the line, and roll on the power to control wheelspin (VSA off), and I have tried launching around 2-2.5k. I just cant get better than 2.2 Still on stock wheels with all seasons, will have light weights for next season.

Good times, guys.

Yeah, I haven't gotten better than low 2.20's and I'm a pretty good driver. I've never missed a gear in almost six years owning this car. A lot of it's track prep. I've tried 4k launches and modulating the clutch/gas, rolling off idle, 2-3 k etc.

Think I might go this Sunday. Just got the passenger side Excelerate motor mount on and I might do the front one and install my 4" intake on Saturday.

14.3 @ 100.7 last fall on a 2.30, so I should hit 102.xx with the 3.7 manifold/TB and 60 less pounds. They re-did the starting area of the track, so hopefully the extra power, the mounts and new track will get me into the 13's.

Just went 14.05 @ 100.9 on a 2.21 and followed it with a 14.2 @ 100.25 on a 2.31.

Damn, thought I'd be hitting 102 today.

Let the car cool off for an hour or so and ran a 14.07 @101.12 on a 2.33 sixty. Lost to a 300 SRT8. He went 13.47 @ 107.35

I was definitely making more power after cooling off for awhile.
