question on ventilation parts
This is my first post here, so go easy on me!
I have a 2006 Acura TL. I just replaced the headlamp assemblies which turned out to be quite a project. Made lots of little mistakes along the way but got the job done while uncovering and fixing some minor issues.
I had to remove my front bumper to do that job, and in removing the front bumper, I found a loose piece of plastic under just forward of the battery. I am holding that piece in the bottom picture. You can also see the opening of a ventilation duct beneath it, right in front of the battery. It appears that this piece of plastic should be attached to the engine compartment by two clips of some kind, which are nowhere to be found. I am wondering if anyone knows what those clips are called (if in fact this piece should be attached there) and where I would find them. The kind of clips you use to attach the bumper do not fit the holes. Related to that question, are there any other pieces that are supposed to be there? It appears that warm air is being directed through the visible duct, and this piece that I am holding then directs that air to the battery, perhaps to help keep the battery warm when the engine is running. Since this piece is loose I am wondering if any other pieces are missing.
The other question relates to the other picture, the top picture. I am embarrassed to say I don't remember where this part came from, but it came off as I was removing the covers in the engine (which I had to do to remove the bumper), or it came out when I took the bumper off. Rookie mistake not taking note of where it came from. I THINK it might have come from beneath the car, rather than inside the engine compartment. Wherever it came from, I believe it just came off by hand and wasn't attached. I am wondering what it is, where it goes, and if it's important since it is currently not on the vehicle.
Thanks for any help!
Jeff

I believe that top piece mounts to the lower portion of the air intake, under the headlight. I can't really find good photo so I'm using what I got. That area on the driver's side.
It mount on one or two rubber "things" and a M6 (10mm hex head) nut.
The clips for the air intake (second photo) - I would just buy universal kit and something might fit.
