Hyundai Genesis Turbo Vs Acura 3.2TL VTEC
so i pull up to this clean azz white hyundai genesis so we ran it about 20 minutes ago haha with two passengers in my car and the other car i only saw one so imma assume maybe two passengers. i didnt think he would run it but he guns it and i punch it i pull like a car link and was like OOOOOOOOOOOOH... hahaha then he caught some traffic ahead then slowed down then exited like real fast... i took the next exit and pulled up to the on the run gas station 4 minutes later he passes by... hahha he just got smoked... another one bites the dust... im guessing it was a modded 2.0T cause he had a blow off valve goo off that sounded real clean. either way i figured hey my 2g is a beast and im loving it. imma rock my stock type s just cruisein...

There was a TL guy from the MD/DC area who used to troll the maxima forums that made something like 310whp with an extensive mod list including every bolton possible and cams + intake manifold port n polish. He ended up leaving the forum embarrassed after losing to a bolton/tuned 5.5 gen maxima in a roll race (Jay_pee99) after a 6+ month shit talking session leading up to it. Still, I'm sure you guys can make 300whp all motor.

lol.. you raced a 2.0T that probably or most likely only had an intake....
2.0Ts are slow if its barely even modded or even stock... slower than a TL-P.....
but once modded with intake, and full exhaust (downpipe, cat delete, exhaust).... different story.
you should come race me.

Yep, pretty much any stock turbo car with tune and breathing mods makes large gains as long as the bottom end can take it and the TC isn't maxed out. I'm not sure about the 2.0T in the genesis, but I know my buddy's cobalt SS/TC went from 260whp stock to 340whp with just full 3" exhaust/downpipe, charge piping, and tune.

maxima's are pretty fast no doubt i guess if i spent that kind of money i would probably just turbo it. probably smoke alot of maxima cars like that, i dont see anyone turboing a tl tho so i been lookin at what the cl coupes are doing to see how they turbo their setups
- Save 8-10 grand and make a budget, then multiply budget by 50% and hope it's enough.
- Find an appropriately sized TC for your goals and buy it + lots of other components that will be needed.
- Mock everything up and have a shop with a mandrel bender build forward Y-pipe, downpipe, and IC piping.
- Install fuel system upgrades and spend a nice wad of $ on a tuning solution.
- Run and test oil lines, install everything (spending far more time and effort than you imagined it would take and inevitably running into problem after problem), get it running, then get it tuned.
- Attempt to enjoy your maintenance intensive turbocharged front wheel drive vehicle and try not to get upset when some guy with boltons and a 75 shot blows your doors off at the track.
Or
-Go to a shop with 20 grand in hand and say you want your car turbocharged.
Seriously though, judging by your previous posts, I doubt you have considered what it takes to turbocharge a car.

It would cost you a lot less time, effort, and cash overall to do a small NA build (minus internal work) than to turbocharge your car.
