Broke the 104 mph trap barrier
Opening day Test N Tune today. Track prep was pretty dismal, as reflected by most of my 60' times (It was impossible to not get my tires wet, as water from the burnout box was leaking across the entire starting area in each lane. Think my best et's were 13.73 and 13.76 (I'll get slips up later; at the gym now).
Anyway, I decided to get brave and up my shift points to 7200-7300 and voila, after a bunch of upper 102.xx traps, I saw an upper 103.xx and then two or three 104.xx. I kept running a stock C6 automatic and he was running 12.5x @ 112, so being within 8 mph of a stock Vette isn't too bad for an all motor TL. And as a bonus, on the way to the gym, I ran into a G37 coupe and pulled a good car length 65-100. |
Very impressive. Do you have any weight reduction or lightweight wheels?
|
Thanks, man. I have Forgestar F14's that weigh 20 lbs front/21 rear (different offsets). Stock wheels are ~ 24.5 lbs I believe. And as far as weight reduction, around 170-175 lbs, so I'm right around 3310 lbs. I ran before without the back seat (another ~50 lbs), but these runs were with the back seat in. So yeah, the car's fairly light for what it is.

awesome runs!
love the bonus round! |
Lol, there were two more bonus rounds on the way home from the gym. There was a base 4G TL, and that was a slaughter. He wouldn't stop egging me on though, so who was I to deny him? Then he does a ricer flyby, cuts me off and takes his exit. No humility there.
And then there was the jackass in the Ford Powerstroke.... Diesel owners......even the slow ones are constantly trying to race everyone in sight. They're in contention with Civic Si owners for that crown. |
Impressive and nice kills

Congrats anx1300c:thumbsup:

LOL! I love smoking diesel owners (Get it?)
Tundra's too! hauling ass at 100mph in mexico...PSH, you aint no match for me! |
Lol I always worried that I am going to get coal rolled when I am next to them with my windows open!

I love spanking diesels. Some of those guys are total douchebags. I did have a regular cab Cummins shot straight out of the bowels of hell a few years ago stick to my door from 65-125 mph. He jumped first and pulled out to where my mirror was at the back of his cab, and at 120, we were literally mirror to mirror. My radar went off and I stuffed the brakes. He probably would have killed me from a stop. I didn't have a four inch intake or Flashpro then, and I had a little less weight reduction, but another couple pounds of boost and the Dodge would've compensated.
Regardless, most of them are slow from 40 mph and up. I've played with a couple GMC Denalis with the 6.2 Liter and they're quick for a gas truck! Low 14's @ 99 mph. Best looking truck out there IMO. |
Great runs, man! 104 is moving

Sonnick, where have you been? I figured you'd sold the Accord and moved on. Yeah, decent trap, but can't get the 60' down. Should be running 13.50's.

I've been around, just have been really busy. I am selling the Accord, not really because I want to, but I'm starting a family. Probably looking at an RDX....
