Acura TL 6Sp vs BMW X5 M
TL 6sp: Driver and pass
TL mods: Intake, Y-pipe to Muffles and a 1'inch Drop
X5 M: Driver
Me and my Dad were driving down the Belt Parkway by exit 16 going to Brooklyn and we see a Gray X5 M driving pretty fast but their was traffic so nowhere to go. So we were behind him for a little and after exit 14, it started to get clear and this guy was pushing it. Rite after the construction area by the bridge, were it was a straight away, had NO traffic as if it was 2am but here it was 12pm. So he slows down to line it up but my dad doesn't really do roll start and we figure this truck was going to blast Off but he doesn't. So as we pull up at the rite side we were one car up cuz he has a big advantage with the 550HP and 500 torque he has. We waited till he gassed it....all u here is intake from the truck and we gunned it. We had him from 55mph to around 110 mph, but then their was traffic coming up and a turn. After that, we took Flatbush exit and call it a day...
It would of been nice to restart but i know that truck would have probably pulled off around 120mph and u know the TL 4th gear sucks. What do u guys think??

Since it's a street race anything could happen. Mis-shift/wrong gear/reaction time etc. Otherwise if both cars are properly driven the X5M would've put bus lengths on any slightly bolted on TLS-6.

All motor
Nice run though. Idk what happened, but anything short of full bolt ons/50 shot for the TL, the X5M should've slaughtered you.
OP: The 6MT's 4th gear actually isn't too bad. It's the 5ATs 4th that is wayyy too long.

this is where i myself:
ya think?????? i'm gonna call that a slight advantage, seeing how the old man still "had him from 55 to 110."
holmes: you ever see the vid of the bull ripping that dude's pants off in front of everybody and then twirling him around by the taint on his horn? that's about the outcome to expect if he decided to throttle up.
it is far more likely he was explaining to his bored supermodel passenger how superior engineering was allowing him to pace your best assault at an unwavering 1500 rpm...

Let's Light This Candle Already
Pressing the M button on the steering wheel (assuming you've already programmed your M-menu for total annihilation) and manually selecting 1st gear enables launch mode. Then pressing the brake pedal as hard as is humanly possible while introducing the back of the throttle pedal to the floor will raise the engine rpm, and a checkered flag appears on the instrument cluster. This is when things go a little blurry.
The checkered flag illuminates just as the vehicle begins to creep forward a fraction of an inch because the giant disc brakes can barely hold back the 501 pound-feet of torque generated by the two twin-scroll turbochargers force-feeding the direct-injected 4.4-liter V8. At this very moment, the X5 M's driveline is literally trying to twist itself to pieces.
Releasing the reins at this point causes the X5 M to nearly wad up four 10-inch-wide pieces of pavement beneath its tire contact patches. The all-wheel-drive X5 M literally leaps off the line and shifts up (and belches, actually) exactly twice at the 7,000-rpm redline before reaching 60 mph in 4.5 seconds (4.2 seconds with 1 foot of rollout like on a drag strip) and then once more before it crosses the finish line in the quarter-mile at 12.8 seconds at 108.5 mph. Holy smokes, that's a new record.
There was a time, not long ago, when people like us were swooning over an 8.0-liter V10 Dodge Viper running in the 12s, but an SUV? You've got to be kidding.

lmao, i said the same thing and i looked and this truck was still in the back, like what happen?? At first i was thinking the guy was playing around which was the problem. He was probably slightly touching the gas pedal saying "look at this guy thinking he could mess with the M class" lol who knows

Since when did improper English become so cool? I'm young (and from the East Coast), but speaking that way where I'm from would immediately signify that you are a joke as a human being. I know this is an online forum, so "LOL who cares LOLZ", but race4ed can do us all a favor and mature a little.

I'm sorry, but this is hilarious coming from someone who called himself a "stop-light hero" & has numerous threads about street racing other drivers....

People talking about grammar.
People talking about a person's actions.
STFU who the hell cares? You all made your point already so get over it and move on.

I don't care what any other driver or forum member is doing. It doesn't effect my life. Whether he or his dad races makes no difference to me, I read the threads for fun. I don't come in here and get emotional about him racing or anybody else doing something on acurazine.
It's your car and your life, do as you please.
*but for the record, I have no beef with any of you guys. Internet tough guy or acurazine regular. Do your thang!
*Edit
I forgot to say that if you don't like street racing than why come into the "racing and competition" sub-forum? This part of the forums is made to post kill-stories.

Sorry but this made me "lol". I guess I'm not very good at expressing sarcasm over the interwebz. I need to learn how to use red text. Obviously I've got no beef with him racing if I'm doing the same.
