In the 13's at 1146' DA

Just went 13.83 @ 102.04 on a 2.20 sixty. Temps in the low 70's., DA 1146. Corrects to 13.66 @ 103.27 on dragtimes calculator.

Beat a Speed3. He went 14.14 @ 101.

Slips to come tonight.

Well done anx1300c! Definitely a strong trap for the altitude

What are your thoughts on the 3.8 final drive? Also, what's your rev-limit set to?

Thanks Tyler. My thoughts on the final drive are that I want it! Not sure if I'll get it though. Sonnick made good gains with it. Think my rev limit is at 7100? It's a bit over 7k.

Unfortunately, the rest of my passes were 14.00 yesterday, (sixty foots all sucked after the first one) but I did manage to trap 103 mph in the afternoon when it was 78 degrees and DA was 1746. It corrected to 105 mph, so the car is making a good amount more power than it was before Flashpro. I'll go back in the fall and shoot for 13.5 @ 104-105. I've got some drag radials, so if I find a cheap pair of light 17s on Craigslist maybe I'll grab them.

I'll get the slips up later.

Nice times man! Car is making some good power according to those traps and surely is faster with FlashPro. Glad to see you broke into the 13s and that the car is capable of more!

PS - I would only recommend the FD if you are going to be revving past 7200. Reason being, it's pretty short if you are going to be staying with the stock redline. 4th gear ends around 107 with the stock redline, so use caution! I crossed the traps around 6800 when I trapped 107 as well, but in sea level more like 6700 if I had to guess.

13.8@103 is good trap.. Car has to be making 270's maybe 280's.. Whats your mods if you dont mind me asking?. And when do you plan to dyno?... Why not use that software tgat works with flash pro to get a real time idea of how much power the car is making?.. I believe sonnick uses this from time to time

I have to take pics of my slips and post them up still. Been crazy busy with work. Beat the MS3, two 98-04 Mustang GTs, a boosted Del Sol and got beaten by a newer BMW 550 X drive (twin turbo V8) Those fuckers LAUNCH with AWD and 400 bhp, but once he jumped out, he never gained any ground after the 1/8 mile marker. He ran upper 12s @ 102.xx and I hit 103 that run. I've never before seen a car on street tires break into the 12s on only 102 mph trap. Makes me want a 335xi instead of the 335i. They're so much easier to launch than WRXs or STis too.

Hustle, I tried doing that calculator that estimated whp and I couldn't figure something out. Maybe I'll try it again. I'd guess I'm around mid 260's at the wheel, since I have a decent amount of weight reduction. Maybe 270 at best.

Mods are 4" Airaid UBI, ZDX TB, SHAWD manifold, p2r ported runners, UR stock diameter pulley, RV6 hi flow cats, XLR8 V2 J and resonated catback and Flashpro.

Went 13.79 @ 103 (well). DA was a bit better this time, (~700) but this time I didn't remove my back seat, so I had an extra 48 lbs. I had around 10-12 runs, all 13.7x-13.9x, and a couple 14 ohs when I spun badly with 2.40-2.50 sixties.

This run was sooo close (some Civic, so close at the 1/8 but then he must have sprayed between the 1/8 and the 1,000' marker if you look at his trap. Still held him off)

Gonna go back late Oct. Low/mid 50's temps, an upper 2.1X and back seat removed should be good for 13.50's @ 104.

Cams are coming.....

Great runs anx1800c!

It has been a fun journey watching your car grow and it shows the potency & consistency of a J series engine - I really do miss my AV6-6 some times

Thanks Tyler. It's getting there slowly but surely.

Looking back at an '08 time slip, I trapped 99 mph in negative DA, which corrected to 98 mph. And I actually had an AEM intake, ATLP V1 J pipe, race pipe, cat back and UR pulley at the time. So I've picked up a corrected 5 mph from HFPCs, 3.7 TB/manifold/ported runners/4" intake and Flashpro. Those are the three best mods for the J, IMO.

I switched to the Excelerate V2 J pipe as well, but I can't attribute gains to that vs the ATLP setup.

Nice!! As Tyler said, it's great to see the progress you have made with the new mods. These J motors really like to breath & I totally agree that the best mods are the PCDs/3.7 setup and Flashpro.

Not sure if I will make it back to the track....I'd like to but I just corrected my exhaust leak and really don't want it coming back again (one of the negatives of not using SS in my custom Jpipe...never again). I look forward to hearing more good ETs and traps from you

Did you say cams?

+1 - I'd be curious to see what his J32 picks up from cams. Bisimoto?

Sonnick,

Your car has come quite a long way, too. I remember your drag strip vidieos when you were running OBX exhaust & an intake .

No more track time ever?

Yeah, thinking seriously about Bisi Stage 1. 105k service is overdue (at 110k now). Got a guy in North Jersey who works out of his garage (ex-Acura mechanic), so I'm on the fence about doing cams at the same time.

What's holding me back is I've dumped/am dumping so much into the car (new all seasons and TPMS last winter, new summer tires next spring, full 105k, rear camber arms and compliance bushings, alignment just done. Need to fix the A/C (field coil's shot), need to fix a small paint bubble on the trunk lid and want to get full paint correction done in the spring (black sucks). So somewhere in the low $4k range before cams.

We'll see. Obviously, labor will be a bit cheaper to do them with the timing belt, but I may wait. Also toying with the idea of a used Comptech blower. That, I can install myself. I'm sure with proper tuning, I can see 111 mph traps on the low boost pulley.

What's another $2K when you're already spending 4? Lol. Good luck with whatever choice you go with and let us know the results! And if you go cams, PLEASE do a before/after dyno. Pretty please.

It adds up, lol. I'm also constantly concerned about the possibility (probability?) of needing a clutch at some point. I'm at 110k now, and I don't plan on selling the car at any time soon. Knock on wood, I have zero problems with it now and I drive hard. Wondering if having taken out the check valve ~5 years ago helped?

Sonnick, don't tell me you've retired from the track, lol.

I know I was teasing It's not easy throwing that much money at the car at one time, ask me how I know You will probably need a new clutch whether you do the cams or supercharger. While I enjoy the LWFW/CM FX250 setup, it chatters every once in awhile and I'm not sure what causes it. I'm not talking about pedal chatter; I'm talking car shaking when I take off in 1st chatter AND when I let off the clutch in Reverse. It's odd.

My car will be sold sometime in 2016. I will probably take it to the track again, but once Winter comes, that will be the last time I go (with this car ).

If you go with cams, I'd imagine you will be trapping upwards of 107-108mph in sea level air. That's serious...

Lol...I'd love to get a 12 second slip but not sure it's happening. I don't want to invest in new DRs when I'm going to sell the car, that would be a waste.

Perhaps a 9G V6 Sedan

I'm with anx1300c, slicks for 12s.

Craigslist 'em after?

Sounds like you're intentionally ditching the 3rd pedal

I'm in the same boat, my S2000 won't be around forever and I too have been round full circle on what 4 door I would settle with.

Focus RS hits every check mark for me, just a ~$40,000 price tag is my only deterrent.

I'm so tempted to buy a used 335i or maybe a B8 S4, but not having car payments trumps all. I kind of like the Q50, even though it isn't as mod friendly as the other two. Less to go wrong on the Infiniti too.
