05 CTS-V// vs. 05 SRT-4
I noticed a few SRT-4 races over the last month or 2 on here so I thought I would post up my race for you all... this was posted up on 2 other websites so if you've already read it then my bad.... on to the story
A buddy and I ended up next to eachother while I was heading back to work from getting gas and he was heading home from work. We desided to line them up in Mexico and see how his car would do.
I was in 1st gear at 30mph. I counted to 3 with my fingers out the window, took the hit on 3 and jumped out about 1.5 cars, shifted to to 2nd and pulled another 2 cars and ran it up to the top of 2nd and had a solid 3 cars on him when I shifted into 3rd and shut it down..
All and all his car sounded great and I LOVE the sound of his turbo when he pulled back up next to me. Not sure what's his mods are, but I know that he's pretty close to stock. We'll run again when we can go all out! I also want to get a few dig runs in next time...

Those little b*stards can pull with a few good mods. It should be more interesting as he mods his car. I don't know if it'll be enough to pull on you, but it'll definitely be interesting! haha

I agree. I think that a stage-2 SRT-4 vs you with your current mods (or lack there of haha) would pull on you.
BUT, I also think that a few more mods for you and that LS will open up perfectly.

The LS6 in the CTS-V...even if the neon got you off the start a bit...the CTS-V should always catch it on the big end unless the neon is fairly heavily modded or the Caddy driver doesnt know how to drive. Do a 30 - 160 mph run....watch how obvious that becomes. If you would stop at 120mph it would still be evident...but less obvious.
BUT...take both cars out on a track like Putnam Park or the Ring and see what happens. The Neon wouldnt even be in the same class it would get left behind so badly. The V is a track car greatly....does wonderful out on the twisties!
Funny thing is....stock for stock....IMO you cant get better value than the CTS-V. You guys are talking about taking cars, modding the crap out of them...and THEN running them against the V. Doesnt take much money to mod the V to be competitive comparitively...
I think I had damn near $58,000 invested total in my Acura TL....the CTS-V could walk it for $20,000 investment total?
Domestic is just way cheaper to attain the same or better goal...which is why I switched back to domestic. That and I got a killer deal on the V.

SRT-4s can be nasty from a roll, though. They can make around 350whp on stock turbo with boltons/tune and well into the 400s on a turbo swap before any serious money needs to be spent building it.

Yeah just boltons, cam, and tune for the CTS-V and depending on cam choice you're well over 400whp. That's my "dream car" for a daily driver. For now my daily is the maxima, though. lol

You can buy mine! Haha... I will be seeling her in about a year and a 1/2 for 15 to 20K so I can put every dime of it down on a M6 V2.. well not every dime..lol.. $5K towards mods should get me to around 650whp to 700whp
I wonder how shell do with the 150shot I also plan on putting on her

The V2 CTS-V has the LSA engine, which uses a basically stock LS3 bottom end, much different than the titanium/forged fun stuff in the LS9... You don't want to go much over 650whp without building it. Still, that can get you 10s with traction
