04TL 6SPD vs RSX-S 6SPD

On the way home from work today I see a orange RSX-S we were approaching the end of the highway so I put down the window as were approaching a red light to ask if he wants to run, he says he does. We pull over and talk for a little and talk about our cars and we decide on a second gear roll....

We line up honk three times (I honk) and take off. I feel like I took off a second late (as to not get a jump start) but I was definately suprised. He pulled on me about a car up to 100 or so.

Not sure what was done to his car but it was definately not stock. Bolt on's + lowered... nice car.

You could have got the car length back if not more if you started in 1st. 1st gear TO DA VTEC is good till 39 mph.... or 38. When you shift to second that's when you get all that torque from the clutch. TL has a fairly heavy flywheel so this works well. Did you shift to third at 93 mph??? That's the optimized shift point for the TL 6MT.

I no longer have MS3. I traded in for a new IS350 F-Sport.

Lol, I thought you said you had a 2002 3 Series ... not an M3.

I'll still run you - as far I know it would be a waste of gas. Perhaps we could race to 200,000 miles and see who wins?

Just kidding.
