You clearly forgot to mention the "driver mod" in your mod list.

Nice runs, two more notches on your tire.

Yes, the driver does make a difference.
I have been racing in competition for about 9yrs now @ the local events and province/out province events.

But in rolling races driver skill is much less needed vs from a stop....

Another one today : 2012 f-150 pick up v8 5L ( I know its a pick-up lol ) 360hp / 380tq.

^that e46 M3 driver didn't seem to think so, unless your car traps at least 105, those e46s don't give up much top end speed.

i think ima call BS on the m3 kill. Unless he was a stock convertible I dont see how that could happen.

Ehh, it's not too outrageous. I've seen a base model 6MT with bolt-ons similar to OP's take out two E46 M3's. One was a modded SMG (Exhaust only) and the other a modded 6MT (Intake only). The TL pulled about 2.5 cars on both each time. Very consistent pulls over the course of 4-runs. He gave props to the M3's for being much closer to stock than he was and still being so quick and they gave props to him for making a sleeper out of his TL. I was in my S2000 and all three cars left me at a standstill after 100mph.

Nice kills OP.

well, adding an exhaust doesnt give you much, and adding an intake doesn't give you any gains. so they were both pretty much stock.

i dont see how a 333hp car will lost against a car with 256 unless all those boltons give it almost 100 crank hp. they both weigh the same if the m3 is a coupe. when my m3 was practically stock i raped a tl type s that appeared to be heavily modified. im not saying its impossible, id just find it hard to believe.

I have run some E-46 M3's & they were way more competitive than any TL I have run against including my own. My daughters stock 330ci 6MT was a good matchup for my '06 TL 6MT.

Not to say it can't happen but the M3 must have not been running well. The car is strong enough to make up any bad driver mod except for a poor too high gear choice.

an m3 would def beat at tl-s no doubt, however with the right driver i dont think the tl-s would lose by THAT much. you'd probably pull a couple cars but not like multiple bus lengths. I find that a lot of ppl just leave the TL in D, which actually hurts a lot in these races. First there's the delay in downshift when racing from a roll, and in manual mode you get a rev slightly higher than in D(big difference because the 5at has such long gearing, you would want to maximize the rpm in each gear)

A fully bolted Type-S 6MT should be able to fight well from a roll. Here's an early e46 M3 trapping 103 mph, which is certainly on the low side. I've trapped 102, so I'd say with Flashpro, I could stay fender to fender with this car:

But then there would probably be a half dozen stock e46 M3's that would easily pull me on me. I don't know if they suffer from VANOS problems if they're older and not properly maintained, but it's plausible. There are also some e39 M5's that don't seem to run quite like they should.

Precisely. Some of them run as they should and others fail to "show up". Either way, an E46 M3 should be smashing on a TL every single time but at the end of the day every car runs differently. There are some factory freaks that are far and few, normal running cars, and those that run like crap. Either way, I prefer the M3 > TL. I just wish I wasn't so scared of it breaking down on me. They're finally in my budget.
