03 TL-S Vs G35 Coupe
Okay so this morning was a little fun. around 6 am a G35 pulls next to me at the light. I tend to drive 1 and 2nd gear hard cuz if not my tranny starts to stutter (damn TL Tranny) so i take off as usual and notice he's actually trying to race me. I have no type of upgrades to my TL at all in fact I have been wanting to but havent been able to (kids). so after realizing he is punching it he is now ahead of me about a car or two. Considering there were no cars on the road and just he and i i figured what the hell. I punched it to catch up and hesitated to maintain his speed before punching it again when we were side by side. Dont know how its possible but i pulled 3/4 of a car before having to slow down for a light. Is this possible? Did he tune himself slow? Who does that?

as evident by you, as you were surprised and even asked the question "can some one possibly detune a car?"
he just let off the gas...
he won and didnt feel the need to go further.
unless he wasnt in the correct gear/powerband the 2nd time yall punched it

Wait you want to debate that? Of coarse you do!
A little story of my teggy GS-R. I had finally purchased my Vtec controller which i had been dying to get my hands on for some time. In a rush to install and not really sure on how to tune i took it to a "reputable shop" or so i thought. Long story short as soon as i was about to hit Vtec the car would bog out. Why you ask? Beats the $h!t out of me i didnt tune it. Didnt know how. So since this happened all on a Friday i was lucky to have a teggy with No powerband at all for the weekend. Possible difference between me and the G35 i didnt try racing everything that had wheels next to me since i know my car wasnt running right<~~~ what i would call detune in this case. I know the G35 is a faster car especially the coupe. Just not that one or for that matter at this time.
maybe a crappy clutch, maybe the 18's, maybe engine misfire maybe he shouldnt have ran

Was he 5AT? If so, it's not too far-fetched. 20 more horsepower on the G35, roughly the same weight. I'd still expect the G to edge you out, but shit happens. If he was 6MT, he should have pulled fairly easily, unless he was in the wrong gear or just a bad manual driver.

hahaha...this reminds me of 2004~2007 or so, so much. LOL, you called the exhausts on the G were loud can. It was and still is known for its nice exotic tone. There are couple of after market sets are louder than OEM but still nice. I don't want to add more fuel to the fire, but it doesn't require 5K rpm to hear the G's exhausts.

Here is an old funny story of me at the track beating a built up corvette.....
I was at the track waiting in line for my chance to run my teggy. at the time there was a corvette to my right which had a really hot blonde in the passenger seat. As i was checking her out her man was in between our cars (in my blind spot) and happened to walk up to the windows leaned down an caught us checking each other out. I quickly turned my head as i was in the wrong and not looking to start problems. (just being a boy and checking out a hot girl). So now i as we are approaching our turn to run our cars im praying they dont line me up with this corvette as i know even if he was stock he would whip my ass. Sure enough the guy tells the coordinator to line us up and here we go.(im thinking this loss is going to be embarrassing). We launch and he takes off the way i knew he would and jumps about three car lengths before i can enough drop second. Next thing you know i see a flash of light ahead and the corvette is no longer leaving me, im gaining on him! Now im praying i can just make it to the end before he does. Time 14.1 teggy 14.2 Corvette. I barely beat him as he rolled in.
My question to you Brock. Is that a loss because i was supposed to lose? was it a loss because if he were running 100% i would lose?
Or is it a win because at the end of the day my slip says winner at the bottom?
Ive won plenty of races back in the day with my integra that i prob shouldnt have won and vise versa lost races i should have won.
