03 AV6 5AT vs Monte Carlo SS 5.3L

I had a great run with this newer Monte Carlo 5.3L V8!

I was at a stoplight where two lanes merge(The right lane into the left lane) and I was second in line behind the monte carlo in the right lane. She pounded it off the line to my suprise so she could take the lead and I gave it about half throttle so I could get in second position. Well we were both headed towards the freeway on-ramp to get onto I-10. I was right behind her to merge onto the freeway. Light turned green and we were off. I pounded it around the turn and right when she saw me hit the left lane she pounded it also. I think I got a slight jump on her from the get-go. From my 1st gear pull I had caught up to her rear bumper and was slowly pulling on her through 2nd gear. When I hit 3rd gear at about 70MPH her front bumper was at my passenger door handle. I looked over to my right and its a 60 something year old lady!! She gives a big smile and a big wave and I return with a smile and a thumbs up! I took it to about 95MPH where I had about a car or 2 on her! I let off and dropped back and I see her blow by me probably over 100mph and she smiles and waves again as I return the thumbs up again! I just couldn't believe what I saw haha. I expected a young guy and was just relishing the fact that a 60 something year old lady bought a 303HP monte carlo SS and was willing to use it for what it was meant to do and that is race it!! Im sure the result would have been different from a dead stop as I know those cars are capable of easy low 14's with traps around 100mph.

Nice run! That's pretty cool you were racing a grandma! Lol.

Definitely a good outcome for you being that you were ahead and she wasn't pulling

Nice story. I've seen my share elder folks driving in a sporting fashion on the roads. (one of which was sporting an ITR another a nicely modded EK.)
