Chris' TLX BWP Black Rims, Roof, & Grille

Hey AZ,

I just finally finished my entire build for my car. I got the BWP V6 Tech with Spoiler about 3 weeks ago. So far I love the car and have been getting a huge amount of compliments on the car. [Before and After the mods].

I've attached pictures of my progress from start to finish.

Wheels: Gianelle Davalu 20x8.5 ET35
Tires: Toyo Proxies 4 Plus 245/35
Tints: Front 35%, Rear 18%
Roof / Grille: Avery Gloss Black

Before Window Tints:

After window tints:

After Wheels and Tires:

After roof and grille:

Nice TLX.

When you say 'entire build' do you mean you're entirely done with it or nah?!

Tasteful mods, looks great. A slight drop would really set it off.

Hi! Did you wrap the grille or paint? Did you have to take off the bumper in order to do it?
BTW, I will copy your work )

Didn't the One Pack say to not cover the shield because it would interfere with the radar for the Adaptive Cruise Control?

If my old memory serves me, they were talking about the Advance model.

ACC is only available on the advance trim. His is a tech. Regarding the one pack. Not sure if painting/"vinyling" would interfere. Hard to imagine radar going thru that thick shield to begin with anyway.

I wonder if it would look better in flat black so it blends with the rest of the grille. Stew didnt u color yours flat black first and then switched to gloss? Can u compare both?

Yes, I started off with flat but repainted to gloss to match the little black bars just below the shield.

I still have a BWP painted shield & bars, in a box.

Yeah, it was a misread on my part, I thought the original post said Advance not Tech.

Love the wrap job.

Want to do the same for my car, but I have an Advance BWP on order. Went flat black on the entire front grill for my CBP TSX, and thought it looked perfect. With the gloss lower trim on the TLX though, I would want it to match.

Guess I'll have to experiment with some spare vinyl I have lying around to see what effects it has on the cruise control.

Course not. Always thinking of more! I'm waiting for some rear bumper mods so I can get the exhaust exposed.

I want to. I'm still new to the game, so researching what I should do for lowering.

Pictures doesn't do it justice. I was chillin' at starbucks and saw a guy walk around my entire car. Felt damn good.

Damn right! It came out perfect. This is what the grille should look like in the first place, especially with all the gloss black accents on the car already.

^^^Opposing view. Hate the black roof. I was shopping another vehicle and white was one of my color choices, but was turned off the white with black panoramic roof. Its ok with a dark color.

That gloss black roof looks great! I also have a BWP and am interested in doing the roof.

How did your installer handle the shark fin? Did they remove it and re-install? Did they vinyl the fin or paint it?
