Timing Belt Replacement $389.99-Honda Dealer, NJ

I've seen the ad for a while, but don't need the replacement as I'm only at 62K, so I thought I would pass it on.

Replace Timing Belt
Replace Drive Belts
Replace Water Pump
Tensioner additonal $75.00

Includes PARTS and LABOR $389.99 + tensioner if needed $75.00=$464.99 plus tax $32.55=$497.54

Just got off the phone with the Service Manager and that price is only good for another 4 days, and they will do the TL.

That is a fantastic price and its done by a Honda tech !! The water pump runs about 130.00 MSRP and the timing belt 55.00 MSRP. Not sure what the drive belts cost.....

Interesting... Does anyone know if this is the exact same stuff that the acura dealership replaces at 105k miles or does acura do more?

But one thing that concerns me is that none of Honda's cars use the J32 engine. The acura mechanics would've done this job many times but for the honda mechanics this might be the first time they're doing it on a J32 engine, maybe they won't do as good a job? On the other hand maybe the J32 is extremely similar to the J30 and J35 so there should be no surprises for them, does anyone know?

That is a killer deal. I just bought all the oem parts to do my Pilot (J35) and I paid about $350 for just the parts. I am replacing all the tensioners, tension pulley and idler pulleys so it is a little different but as pointed out, the water pump alone is over $100.

I have the service manuals for both the Pilot and the TL. The front of a J32 vs J35 is identical. Even down to the page #.

There normal price is $790, plus any extra part e.g. tensioner.

It's a brand new dealership that opened June '09 owned by Brandon Jacobs (NY Giants) and Drew Rosenhaus (Sports Agent). The dealership has many interesting deals, e.g. free oil/filter change for a first time customer. They are even opened 7 days per week for service M/F 7-9, Sat 7-6, and Sunday 9-4.

This is a good deal guys. If you live in the east coast, get this even if you have to drive 300 miles too it. 300 miles = $50-$60 gas, but you save like $1,000. Honda/Acura dealerships usually charge at least $1400 for this service since there hourly rate is either $70 or $120 and the fact that they will "add" a couple of hours by making up a stupid excuse.

damn that much time?? ive done the belt in 3 hours. they have retail hours n warranty hours. the warranty hours are more realistic... and depending on the knowledge level of the mechanic is how long itll take as well.

I would always bill what the book told me regardless of how long it took

My Honda Certified Technician installed my BBK, Rotora rear rotors w/ brake pads, and replaced my serpentine belt, all for $150. I guess it's good to know a good mechanic.

However, that seems like a pretty good price for a stealership.

I grew up in Seabrook. Go through Hamilton on our way to AC all the time. Wife loves to shop at the Hamilton Mall. Small world indeed.
