License plate on dash...

Is it legal in NJ/NY to put your front license plate on your dash facing the windshield? I know some people that do this instead of putting the plate on the bumper and i was just wondering if its legal or not.

Not unless you wanna get pulled over. I would rather take the chance of running no plate than scratch my dast up.

ur better running no plate than a plate in ur windshield.

it screams "look at me give me a front plate ticket", when u have it on the windshield.

at least if its no where, there is a chanceeee the cop might think ur from PA or something.lol
