BridgeWater Acura Gets $7M Expansion
BRIDGEWATER — Bill Vince's Bridgewater Acura has embarked on a $7 million expansion project that will include a service lounge and a 4-story parking deck.
The renovation at the 1231 Route 22 West dealership, comes as township auto dealerships have their held their ground on the highway in perilous economic times.
The township Planning Board recommended that existing auto dealerships be allowed to expand on their current property as part of a plan to drive economic development on Route 22.
However, the board's original proposal did not include the dealership as an approved use.
The Township Council will hold a hearing on a proposed change to the municipal zoning ordinance that will allow car dealerships as an approved use at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Bridgewater Municipal Complex, 100 Commons Way.
The 4-story parking deck is the 1st phase of a $7 million project, Bridgewater Acura owner, Bill Vince and General Manager, Michael Galietta said in a release.
Galietta did not return a phone call Monday.
The use of the 5-acre property had reached capacity and 3-quarters of the dealer's inventory was stored off site, according to a release from the dealership.
The new parking garage will house Bridgewater Acura's entire inventory, their fleet of loaner cars and all customer service cars. The new garage is expected to be finished by the end of 2010.
Then, phase 2, a 20,500-square-foot addition to the service and parts departments, will begin.
There will be a drive-in/drive-out car wash with spot-free rinse and hi-power vacuum for every car in for service. There will be 6 new service bays so that Bridgewater Acura's technicians will be able to work on 22 cars at any one time, according to the release.
Phase two is expected to be completed in spring 2011.
The 3rd phase of the construction project, which is expected to be completed in summer 2011, will, according to the release, add a "state-of-the-art service customer lounge with a coffee bar, flat screen TV's and quiet areas."

Ha, that's funny, I have the same opinion. I go way out of my way to go to another dealer.
It did need a huge upgrade, though. I was just in there in the spring to buy a part, and couldn't believe how dingy and unprofessional their service area was compared to other dealerships. At least they are doing something about it. That is just one area that needs upgrading, though, IMO.

im willing to bet all 7 million that they don't have a happy customer unless their in warranty haha they are the true definition of a stealership...I went in there to buy 2 bumper clips which are a universal honda acura whatever you drive, they tried to charge me 30 bucks for 2 plastic clips.....and then I laughed and walked out I would rather drive 30 miles out of the way then to go to them
