i wouldn't recommend high mileage bimmer either. maintenance cost is way too high. once i overheard these bimmer owners talking about how much they love their cars and don't have much issues but just paid $4000 to fix several minor stuffs. i was like
depends on your budget, but if you wanna get a convertible, get 350z. they are reliable, fast and fun to drive. or g35 or g37 coupe too.
and for the gas saving daily, you can get brand new 2012 accent for around $16k. up to 30mpg in city and 40mpg on highway.

Alright, you talked me out of it. Car fever is always higher on the weekends for some reason, then come Monday it passes like a hangover.
I just can't talk her into the S2000 because "it's impractical." She's the Angel, I'm the Devil.

btw.. my roof getting blacked out today. i bought the material for $62 on ebay and getting it done for $50 labor. but prepping is my work. getting roof molding off and claying it really good.
also took the accent on a first long distance drive to astoria yesterday. not bad at all on the hills and tranny held the speed nicely on downhills so i don't have to constantly hit the brakes.

^ not bad for the total price.. so you going to clay it then use wax remover to make sure you have no residew? I am curious to see what the outcome looks like.

I honestly dont like the look of the carbon vinyl.. i really think the glossy black is a better look.. plus if i get a carbon hood i think that will look too carbony and dont want a fake with a real.
side thought.. saw in one of the pics it has the rear window visor... I am still thinking on weather i want to do that for mine or just leave it as is... anyone have any opinions on it??? think its outplayed now? or soon to be?

rear window visor will look good if you gonna keep spoiler-less trunk.
blacked out roof finally. install was greatly done but doesn't look that good as i thought. econobox is a econobox no matter what's been done to it and install took longer than expected so ended up paying $30 more (1.5hrs more).
here's pics..
before. moldings off
after.

I Quit
I spent alot of time contemplating a roof overlay but never pulled the trigger. Wasn't sure how the vinyl would hold up to our climate was the main issue. Now I am done modding and will probably sell the car in 2012.

Looks good Min!! gotta love the cows in the background =)
Chris- good vinyl will last on a car 5-8 years depending.. (based on its elements and how its taken care of)
bought new front rotors on my car didnt realize how bad they are till i looked at them recently.. lasted me 3 good years on germantown daily and another 2 driving back and forth from wilsonville.. hopefully these next ones will be just as good

Got it. Can't log in to IRS.gov this morning though. Conspiracy theories?

AZ prolly did maintenance or had a denial of service attack. It's common for forums. As for the IRS site, it's the government, they're always out to get us right? If they weren't O'Reilly would be out of a job lol

Still woke up at 6:30AM but that's better than 6. Got a lot accomplished already today. Watered the lawn and buffed the RDX with Lemon Pledge.
If you haven't used Pledge on your car yet, I highly recommend it. Covers up any fine lines left over from polish and give the car that "wet" look. Plus it's only $3 a can vs $6 spray polish/shine.
EDiT: Takes a lot of elbow grease or an obital buffer to remove the streaks.

FYI Brandon, I noticed some not so nice RDX paint issues today.
1. Can't get bug debris/dents out of front bumper no matter what I use.
2. Chips in paint/plastic on lower rear passenger doors from debris (mud flaps are not long enough on front wheels). A special thanks to ODOT on this one for the pea gravel on HWY 26.

^ wet sand with 2500 grit then a polisher and stuff.. (must be done sober)
also noticed people dont like to use the sidewalk on your lawn.. those bastards!! haha (yellow spot near the driver door)
what ever our next vehicle is im gonna have clear film on the front bumper.. im sick of the rock chip issues..
honestly ive been really looking at the audi A3 (going to the darkside) and its not too bad.. a few known issues but just as reliable.. plus i get decent gas mileage on a turbo engine if i do decide to get something other then the RDX ill have to sell my springs though =/ might sell them for 500 haha

The lawn has been messed up in that spot for a while. It comes back in the winter so I think it's a combination of poor soil and lack of water. I've kinda given up on having the perfect lawn because it just seems like such a waste of time and money. However, the tomatos and green beans in the back yard have really paid off (worth their weight in water bill).

got to drive the X today.. man i miss driving it.. cant wait till i get another vehicle so i can drive it more
#5479
^ ya it is.. i was looking at the potential parts to get.. DEFF alot more then a RDX bummer thing is i can make it faster then the TSX so why would i want to give the fast car to the wife?? haha shit for the price of a brand new A3 quatro 6 speed with titanium package it would be 35grand.. and the RDX with tech package is 39K brand new.. the Acura will hold more value in time but there is alot more things weighing in on the audi.. the bummer part is i hear alot of known issues.. and not so many on the acura other then the paint not matching
