I agree with the high offset, unfortunately they only come in a +40mm offset and sit in a bit deep. I have thought about spacers and might just do them, but first I'm going to get them on the car and see how they look.

Are there any other wheels that you would recommend for a SSM TL with a price point of $800-1000?

Are you referring to their gunmetal wheels (which looks more like a black)? I think those look good on white cars but I don't think they would on an SSM one. The color in that pic I posted is their "Hyper Silver" which to me is more of a light gunmetal, I like it though.

wheels that cost between 800-1000 and are lightweight are going to be difficult to locate specially if you are going for a 19 inch i paid 1900 with new tires for mine which made the rims alone 1200 and mine are about the same weight.. 24.8 each

ive honestly been eyeing the enkei rpf1 they come in an 18 and a 19inch and finally got a black =) and they weigh pretty much the same as the wheel size and with tires you can get them for about 2K

Those are clean Nick! I don't know about the whole "hella flush" thing, seems like a lot of work to me. The TLS wheels on my car are flush with the fenders but will occasionally rub even with my misery 1.25" drop!

Though a lil offset would really set your car off!

Did you get your S-Techs and Tokicos on yet?

My dad is a home builder so I've had experience with just about everything that goes into building a home

What questions do you have about insulation?

i bought some fire resistant sound proof insulation for the ceiling in our basement and it doesnt have the paper on 1 side of it.. so its just that fiberglass crap all the way and when i try to staple it up it doesnt stay there it just falls down.. so for now i just cut some 2x4s and stuck them in the ceiling beams to hold them up but i just dont feel like it will do the same job as stapling them against the actual bottom of the floor.. have any thoughts? or suggestions? or do you think the way i did it will still cut the sound enough that it wont matter??

spray foam insulation would offer better sound surpression, however it's a bit more costly especially since you have the material already. Also, creaks and what not are not going to hidden by insulation, it's your floor joyce that creaks.

To hold it up just tack some plastic sheeting to your floor joyce:
http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053

No need for 2x4's, that just adds weight and more room for creaks Just put the insulation in, staple the sheeting to your joyce that'll hold the insulation up. Just remember it wont stop creaks and cracks and squeaks.

Then you can do drywall or a floating ceiling and you're set.

Hmm..that's weird that they are so deep in there with that offset. I guess 3Gs have deeper wells than the 2G cuz my A-Specs are 19x8 +45 and sit perfectly flush with my fenders. I even rub sometimes on big dips or when the backseat is full (even with 4x4 stance )

There's a guy selling the 18x8.5 A-Specs for pretty cheap on the BM and with the money you save buying used you could get them refinished to the perfect color. They'd also have no problem with fitment being OEM. They aren't too unique but if you get them refinished you could make them unique

That's ony 3mm further out? I was thinking something around +32mm would fill them in better?

But yeah, I'm not really feelin those wheels, maybe if someone had a pic of them on a TL? I have heard good things about 5zigen though, I'll look into them.

*EDIT* I found a TL with them, but in a 19, I'd be getting an 18. I think it looks ok, but I don't think it looks as good as the Enkei's do. What do you think?

Lightweight is relative to lighter than 27lbs or so. I'm not wanting 19's, we have horrible roads in Yamhill county and I'd tear them up quickly. So 18's it is.

I'm actually not needing tires, just wheels, I've got some 245/40/18 tires with about 60% tread that I can throw on them.

The RPF1 looks really nice, but the lip on it makes it look much smaller than it really is. Depending on the application I think they can look really nice, but on the wrong car they would look really bad. I don't think they would look good on my car.

Thanks Chris! I haven't got the S-Techs and Tokico's on yet, I've got them sitting here next to me. I was hoping to have the mechanic at McMinnville Honda put them on for me on the side, but he doesn't have a spot to do it. I could do them myself, but I really don't want to, I'm to the point where I'd rather pay someone else to work on my cars for me. So yeah, I'm just looking for someone to do them for a reasonable price.

Yeah the 3G has a huge wheel well. There are guys running 255mm wide tires on these cars!

If I had the choice I would have gone with the 18's as well just for the weight saving alone. As a matter of fact last year I was hunting for 18's but decided to spend my money on a elliptical machine and TV for the spare bedroom. Looking back it was a mistake because I would have gotten more exercise from swapping out the wheels and tires than the machine that is just taking up space in my spare room. ME HUNGRY, ME FAT.

BE Breyton GTS-AV 19X8.5(+40)

Rides inside the wheel wells (not flush), but was substantially lighter than the stock 19x9" RDX wheels

Nick, it totally depends on what style you're after. Do you want race or VIP or just look good?

So for VIP the enkies would work, or go for some Work Varianzas or something

For race RPF1 is this shiz or the high cost option TE37's

good to know.. my current rims on the car are 19s with a +40 offset so if i decided i wanted to keep them i could swap them over with new tires.. i was thinking of getting my current ones powder coated in all black instead my lip being polished.. but i read powder coating wheels can weaken the strength.. so im still on the fence. BAH!!!!!!!! decisions..

BTW you need to find some springs.. the fenders still look scared to hang with the rims

I just want my car to look nice and ride well. I need to replace these junk OEM wheels I just bought, the guy ripped me off, he said they weren't bent, but turns out they are. Oh well I guess.

^First I wanted them but couldn't afford them because our payment was $934mo. Then after we paid it off I decided I didn't want them because the thing was so top heavy it wouldn't help the handling. Now that you have all given me so much shit about the gap I want them again, and they are sold out.

Yep hate the Audi/BMW drivers (douche city). Here are some other stereotypical observations:
Infinity drivers are dicks. Subaru drivers are over confident and I have found more in the ditch or curb than any other. Mercedes=MILF. Volvo/Saab drivers seem to be nicer in traffic but they can be clueless as to things occurring around their cars. And my personal west side favorite, the
Mexican Micro-bus:

Expired tags, bald tires, drives 2mph under the speed limit, etc. This one in particular had a dead migrant worker under it.

not all infinity drivers are bad.. i still wouldnt mind the FX35 or a G37 sometimes i think it would be nicer then the RDX (more aftermarket options too) they are just so spendy upfront and the value of them drop like flies although i have noticed the value of the newer ones hold pretty steady

Best pricepoint right now is the g35 base. As a matter of fact, it may be one of the top 5 best used car deals to be had right now. It is easy to find a good used G35 base coupe (almost 300hp) for less than $20K.

That topic came up around the copier yesterday because we were arguing about who was the responsible party. The dude who borrowed the chick magnet, or the thief who took it. Yet another confusion occurred with the breed when someone said it was a Boxer. Do they look alike as puppies or something?

ya boxers can look like bulldog puppies but only for a very short time.. i have a picture of my inlaws boxer sitting with my bulldogs when my bulldog was a puppy and people thought it was his offspring which was kinda funny..

there are a couple things about this.. first off im sure the person who took the dog knew it was expensive regardless of it being a bulldog or mistaking it for a different breed. it wasnt a mutt that you see or just some lab that everyone and there mother has..
next the "friend" that had it was either a younger child that just didnt know better or the BIGGEST moron of the world.. you dont just take a dog to a market and tie it up unless youre a bum or damn close..
and last.. im curious on what the owner was even thinking giving it to this friend and letting them take care of the dog.. i dont even like my neighbors around mine haha but im also super protective of my property..

its like loaning a friend of mine a 92 civic and them going to a market with the windows rolled down and the car still running.. chances are its not gonna be there when they come back.. it was just begging to be plucked from some idiot
