Roger is sending them out to the caravan organizers/hosts. For the Sacramento Caravan, that would be me
I'm just as anxious to get the caravan stickers as you are. I'll post in here and in the sac chat thread for people who wish to pick them up earlier.

Hey everyone, new to this blogging stuff... Heard of Acurafest and it sounds pretty fun. Just wondering how its all going to work? Is everyone rergestering their cars? And if I were to register, how does parking and organizing work??

You guys have to adjust your caravan time to earlier then. It doesn't make sense since the bay area caravan leaves the same time as you guys. It means we will be at Madera waiting for you guys for however long. The weather will be hot so i doubt the group wants to wait a certain amount of time.

On the first post of the original all-cali thread, it was stated the start time was at 1pm. I based my caravan and the nor cal gathering place with this time.

1pm was the original target time. 2-2.5 hour drive to madera, arrive at noon, then wait 0-30min and head to park.

What time will the bay caravan arrive in madera? I will consult Roger about the time for the start and/or caravan arrivals. I will adjust the sac caravan time accordingly but this means that the nor cal gathering time may also be bumped to 11am and leave at 11:30.

According to Mapquest, from the Bay caravan location to Madera, is one hour 46 minutes. It takes the Sac caravan two hours and 12 minutes.
Factor in traffic if any or emergencies we may encounter from both caravans, I would say you guys arrive at your caravan 30 minutes earlier than your original time.

It's a good idea to wait for Roger's confirmation so we can adjust accordingly.

Wouldn't we want to make a better entrance? Let's roll in after the so cal caravans. I believe we (all nor cal caravans) meet at madera at NOON (SHARP) and head out to the park right away.

Can we also get a phone listing of the caravan coordinators? That way if people are late/early, we can contact them to see where they are in CALIFORNIA?

arriving on time is always great. I think there was a misunderstanding on the time. Since the event start at 12, we should be at madera by 11:30. From madera to the location will be about 30 minute.

I think 1PM is a little late. Hopefully everyone can arrive by 12:30 at the latest. Good job organizing this event.

That was Donald. He passed a truck on the shoulder and the trucker radioed it in to the CHP. I hope nobody tries to replicate it again. But it made the drive much more interesting.

I think when cali2882 made the caravan list, he didn't factor in that we have to wait for the SAC caravan. That would put us at Fresno @ around 12pm if we didn't.

So like Roger himself said, 1pm is fine. I will not adjust the sac caravan or the nor cal gathering times. There wont be any traffic for the sac crew heading down 99.
Here is the schedule for the sac guys/nor cal:
9:30-10am: Depart from Elk Grove Automall. If everyone signed up for the caravan comes before 10am, then we will leave i.e. if we have our group at 9:45, then thats when we'll leave. We will leave no later then 10am.

10am-noon: Drive south on CA-99. No traffic and average speed with be approx 75mph. This will beat mapquest's approx time.

noon-12:30pm: Sac caravan arrives at Madera. Bay caravan will either be there or Sac caravan will wait. 30min window gives us time incase either caravan is late, restroom breaks and gas station visits. We will leave once everyone is ready. If both caravans are ready to leave before 12:30, then we will roll out.

12:30pm: Latest time to leave the target parking lot as the nor cal caravan and continue south on CA-99 to Fresno. Mapquest has the time of 30min but we know we will beat that.

1pm (or slightly sooner): Arrival of Nor Cal caravan and the beginning of the best west coast meet of the year!

as you can see, this is a pretty tight schedule even though there is a bit of a cushion at the beginning and at the gathering spot. This is why its very important for Sac caravan members to arrive at 9:30am or sooner. To anyone that is not coming on the current caravan list, please remove yourself so we do not wait till 10am for no shows.

I am willing to give my phone number to any members of the sac caravan, the coordinator of the bay area caravan and Roger if needed. Requests for my number will be accepted via PM or at either the sac caravan spot.

I figure you guys would compromise a little. So*Cal caravan leaves hella early and you guys complain about 30 minutes. I don't mean to bitch but it would be great if we, California as a whole would arrive at around the same time or a little bit later. That would be the best way to make a grand entrance at the biggest event of the year.

I'm not gonna post anymore regarding what time we should be at the park. It looks like you guys stand firm on your decision on arriving at 1pm. I am going straight to the park after stopping at Madera for 15 minutes top. If the rest of the Bay caravan feels the same way they can do so too.

I am pretty firm on the time as there is only a few more days left. Roger himself said 1pm is fine and these times were made before the bay caravan was up. Like I said, its easier to start later then to start earlier.
