Local transmission rebuild shop

My tranny is going out. Wana know if anyone here would know a reputable shop for Trans rebuild in the BayArea .

Want to know if it worth the cost or junk the car although the car is clean but got high mileage.

Got a referral from a friend to a shop in Santa Clara. Drop the car off earlier today and told the cost is $1600.
