i'd give this hellaflush meet a 3.5/5. little to no organization. no dj. no entertainment. NOS was the only one that brought a little entertainment in the form of some quiet music and some models.

I've been to coyote point like 200 times. i have bbq's there 10 times each summer.

when they posted the parking lot area to go to, i instantly new it would be packed if it was a nice day. a large group like a car club should be in the back parking areas near marina, or the area by the captains house on the hill. NOT the lower section by the surfboard rental place.

2nd thing is, they said they were going early to reserve a bbq spot. lol , well, for large groups, you have to pay to reserve a bbq area. plus, with "a lot of people anticipated on going", you'd need quite a few bbq pits. i believe from what i read on their site that they did not pay to reserve an area like you are supposed to.

AND thirdly, they said for people to bring their OWN FOOD to bbq. so now you got like 1 maybe 2 bbq pits, lots of random people with food all wanting grill time. then who provides the charcoal? fluid? etc?



it was fail from the start. bad organization for that location.

they actually did have the meet up on the hill near captains house, the rangers forced us up there, they wouldnt allow people to park near the water. eventually though they had to because we filled up the upper lot.

Yeah, i saw some pictures on the subaru forum, and recognized the parking area as the one by the captains house.

they should have organized it to be by the marina. plus, as i said above, they have to pay to reserve an area like that for a large group.

depending on how many people were gonna be there, they'd need the med or large.

they should have reserved either Eucalyptus 1 or 4, which is right next to the large parking lot and restroom.

for the picnic areas on the hill by captains house, they are for smaller groups and are you cannot reserve them. they are first come. plus, for "one group of people", the rangers only allow you to take up TWO tables. i see this happen all the time because i have small bbq's at the spots by captains house.
people come there to have a large birthday party, start setting up with like 5 tables, and rangers will make them squish down to 2.

the large group ones are first come, unless there is a reserve.

AND, those larger sites are all booked up. i found one opening for eucalyptus 4 all the way out on September 18th.

^ i remember seeing you drive around the upper parking lot a couple times looking for a spot. i was there pretty damn early and the lot filled up pretty quick. i'd say within 45min of me getting there the lot was pretty full with only a small handful of spots available. not to mention the ranger kept on kicking out the guys parked in the red zone.

yea it was hella packed, i parked in the red zone too and the ranger kicked us down, so i just left it on the bottom

yea they are a bit foggy/hazy. but most of is from the inside, when i painted the housing silver.
