It means that u put in ur t- mobile sim and it will recognize it within a few seconds. You dont have to do anything. In fact, this iPhone is unlocked and ready for use for all GSM carriers worldwide.

price is high for a 3GS. they are selling the iphone4 jailbroken/unlocked for around $300.. thought this input may help you out with a reasonable offer
