Possible new Acura owner

I think I'm going to take the plunge and buy this 2003 CL tomorrow. Only 22.9k miles on it. Test drove it yesterday. They're asking under 5K for it. Looks brand freaking new. Only problem is, it has never had a timing belt done. That'll be the first thing I do. That and a transmission service. I hear the tranny's 'can' start having problems around 40k miles. They dropped the price 350.00 for the timing belt, I told them a quote from the dealership was 800.00. I would be a fool for passing this up even at 5k dollars. I'll end up doing the timing belt myself, I wrench for a living, just not cars, but I do all my own work. I did the timing belt on my 98 Civic no problem. It got smashed the other day, it's totaled now, the other guys fault. So the CL will be the replacement car. I'm hoping to get around 2500.00 from the insurance company, I'll be around 2K out of pocket for this CL. Pinch me.

Welcome

Good luck if you pull the trigger on the CL.

I love my CL. Low mileage can present it's own set of problems, but nothing you can't deal with.

Oh and FYI, I got 3900.00 for the Civic. I'm out of pocket 750.00. But technically, that money is from my last accident settlement, so while I'm not out of pocket, that denero was for my jeep project.
