New member Tom - 97 Acura CL 2.2
Hello,
Just joined this forum. I am helping my non-mechanically minded friend fix up his just purchased 1997 Acura CL 2.2. He had owned a new 3.0 CL before and missed it, so this 2.2 is his new commuter.
I have already been reading some very useful posts on this site, and am about to fix some driveability faults on this car, such as a cold idle surge, by cleaning the FITV, and cleaning the EGR ports, and cleaning the IAC. The back brakes are squealing a bit, so new pads/rotors are going to be installed a bit later.

Welcome!
Awesome to hear that people still search out these "old cars" out of nostalgia or whatever.
And thanks for helping to keep a "nearly classic" up and running!

Thanks for the welcome! I noticed that this site, like a lot of other older car forums, have fewer active members.. It's nice to be able to read about past issues and solutions, and to interact with other members who have hung on to their cars, or newbies that have discovered (or rediscovered) these modern looking coupes!

Thanks for the encouragement thoiboi!
I forgot one more item I need to research.. The DRL light stays on and only one high beam has power to it. I think it may be a DRL module solder failure I read about... next week's update will hopefully include a fix for this..
car runs very smooth now with the idle sorted...kinda don't want to give the car back to my friend right away.. lol
