Talking New member from Des Moines, IA

Hello everyone! I'm Joel and I'm excited to be here! I just purchased a 3rd Gen TL in Nighthawk Black Pearl and I love it. I named Her 'Pam,' as in, Pam Grier: Black and sexy with a killer set of errrm Headlights! XD... I look forward to interacting with as many people as possible so don't hold back. I can take jokes pretty well too so bring on the *noobisms* Ha!

Welcome. The 3G forum has a ton of really useful information. And the 3G has a ton of aftermarket support, from lighting to exhaust.

The only thing that seems to be a potential problem with the 3G is the automatic transmission if you have a 2004-2006. It has a higher failure rate. I'd consider changing the transmission fluid as often as every 15K-20K miles. Some call that extreme. I call it cheap insurance. If you have the 2007-2008, the transmissions are more stalwart however.

If you have a 6MT then you're good Honda puts out some good manual transmissions. The TL is no exception.

Unfortunately, I have the automatic. I know that they can be problematic, I'm hoping that I can avoid major problems by regularly maintenance.

OP some say cheap maintenance is changing out 3rd & 4th transmission gear pressure switches. There are some threads about how and why to perform this preventative maintenance.
