Hi everyone! I am new to Acurazine - have been on plenty of boards but nothing regarding Acura's yet! Lot of great info on here, helped me come up with an idea and direction for my Acura TL, so thanks to all the members for great input.

I wanted to give everyone a brief hello, I have worked on plenty of cars in the past, most notably rebuild 1990 Mustang 5.0 from top to bottom and a 1973 240z.

I am from Japan and absolutely love cars and everything related. Finally bought my brother 4G TL and want to drop it and install rims that I recently found a great deal on.

First off - can someone kindly point me in the right direction to upload a profile pic? thanks in advance!

thanks for the responses guys!

I have a 2012 Acura TL - believe the paint code is Bellanova White Pearl, can someone confirm this is the white pearl code for 2012?
Its the tech package FWD and I absolutely love it. I got it with 100k miles and swapped timing belt/water pump and did the brakes and full tune up while I was at it.

Recently picked up some 20x9/10 Niche Verona's for a steal price just need to decide whether to drop it on springs or coilovers.. I have read plenty on the forum about either direction - but with my miles (currently 130k) would most advise to go with full coilovers rather than just lowering springs?

PICS COMING SOON!

more pics

pic with my buddy - love the front end. I purchased the acura with some slight plastidip action from my brother - wasn't a big fan and took off most but decided to leave the front grill black and emblems black. For anyone who has tried to remove plastidip it is a PAIN!!!

hi all! I have been quiet on here for weeks, but have managed to get some work done in the right direction.

Wheels are done with the powdercoating - heres a couple shots of the before and after. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Rims were sprayed by a very reputable shop here in NORCAL - certified to do car parts, actually has contract with Toyota and Tesla so its rare they do custom public orders like this.

I am itching to mount them when the weather clears, but I dont have the drop setup yet. Who knows I might just mountem even if I don't lower the car we will see.

aiming to get coilovers or at least springs in the summer to drop the car 1.5".

My current struts and shocks are in good shape even with high miles, but I know adding Tein springs will probably kill the stock struts. Hence, why so many people have directed me to just go with the coilover setup, saves time and money.

I ordered another wheel online for 300 and it came in two weeks and looked really good, only problem was that the color did not match the older wheels - not a problem since these were headed to the powder coating shop. here are pictures after being sandblasted and hit with 2 coats of black and 1 coat of gloss.

Yeah the best bet is to replace the shocks and springs in one swoop with a set of coilovers. The Tein SAZ will be perfect for your desired drop range. Heeltoe sells these with an upper mount option as well so that install is a lot easier and you can keep the stock assemblies together. Hit us up when ready! Usually have them in stock.

Sure thing, here is a link to the Tein SAZ with mounts option, and pre-assembly can be selected as well:

Finally mounted the wheels on yesterday after balancing all 4 rims/tires. I sprayed the center caps myself because the powdercoating shop did NOT blast them.

The car still sits a little high on stock suspension but the ride is great all new tread. I can definitely tell the wheels are on it feels like the transmission knows they are slightly heavier as well.

Feel free to leave some feedback - we have had some bad weather in CA so the car has NOT been detailed or cleaned in about a month, waiting for the sunshine to come out.

Thanks!!
