New 2nd gen owner

Came across a 2002 tl base while looking for a cheap daily. Was listed with transmission issues so did a bit of research and saw how common it is. Car has 130k and is in great shape overall with just a few spots of some minor bubbling rust that will be fixed. I’ve already ordered the rebuild kit and shift kit and will be pulling and doing that next weekend. Also have some other maintenance items coming after checking it all out today. Rear brakes, rotors, one caliper, front left upper control arm with ball joint and hood struts. I went to order some better headlight bulbs because they are terrible right now. Everywhere I looked showed they are hid low beam. Mine were clearly halogen so I looked and low beam has a 9006 bulb installed kinda rigged in factory headlight housing. I didn’t see where they had spliced a connector either, all looks factory. It’s dark so haven’t pulled headlights to verify if ballasts are even there. But couldn’t find any information on a hid to halogen swap and no idea why you would want to. Is the connector to oem ballasts similar enough to a 9006 bulb that it’d work?

Nice car!
Just an FYI. As far as the transmission goes there is an option other than a rebuild of the OEM defective one. Check out the thread below, if you have not already.

I saw the accord swap. I went ahead with rebuilding this because cheapest accord trans I could find was around $1k used. I have $405 in the rebuild and shift kit. Went with the superior kit so should hopefully take care of the oiling issues.
