Just bought TLX ( base model ) and questions?

Hello everyone. My name is Jim and I am thrilled to be a part of your community. I recently bought a TLX and absolutely love it. I have a few questions that I am sure you all can answer for me. I do a lot if driving and was wondering what my options are as far as a spare tire goes? I am a little scared of relying on just a compressor and fix a flat. Another thing is fuel, what fuel grade do you use?

Hi Jim. The TL can hold a spare if that is what you want. Just take out the flat repair kit and under the mat is the spare tire cavity for the spare. I've been thinking of going that route myself. The AAA just came out with a study that using supreme gas has no long term benefit over reg unleaded. I use the cheap stuff in my TL and still get great gas mileage.

Should I just buy a wheel ( rim ) with a full size tire?

If that is what you want to do, go for it, I decided to get a spare tire the next time I get new tires, Ill have the tire shop throw on a old rim and use one of the old tires and put it in the car for a spare.

fyi a full size tire i'm told is a tad bit wide for the trunk's under cavity. i also considered getting a full size spare mainly for long road trips where a spare wouldn't bode well. having said that i held off because i don't have a garage and never planned to keep the tire in the trunk permanently.

Thanks for the info. I am wondering where i can buy a spare tire kit ( other then the dealer ) Will a donut tire work? as i have a jack and tire iron.
