f#^ked myself good
greetings, new to owning a TL
co-workers 06 started giving him transmission problems, 600$ later i drive it 10 miles or so to my garage. not knowing any better, i buy a very low mile 07 from the auction. now i owe two TL's. Both silver with black interior. both cars have empty engine bays at the moment lucky me, the subframe from 07 is damaged after discovering the transmission is different. so i need to locate a subframe for an 07 TL. or sell the engine and trans from the auction car to fund the purchase of a 06 rebuild. wish me luck gang cheers ill share some photos with you all soon |
Shouldn't be hard at all to find a subframe for the 07'
|
sounds like you know what you're doing. Good luck
|
no it isnt. but i did get a quote for 750,
thats more then what i bought the 06 for. |
thanks but i shouldve done some reading before i started turning wrenches and opening wallets

Yea a lot of ppl that aren't familiar with these car think 04-08 are all the same, which of course they're not.
Not sure where your located but there's plenty on car-part.com in the $200 range. I'm assuming it's an auto. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/acurazi...bdfed1ba06.png |

Looks like the 07' subframe is discontinued so the 08 is the only one available, new anyways. Same setup regardless. The 3rd part number you found is more than likely the 6MT subframe.
08' Acura TL Base/Type S Auto subframe. Also, there's no reason the lower arms wouldn't be compatible, it's the same car/suspension setup. The only difference is the transmission lower mounting points. |
yea that bracket for lower trans is what got me.... if i were to use the engine and trans from the 07... i just need a subframe and ecu at that point right?
|
The wiring for the ECU is different as well
