End of summer meet-Sept.13th-Colt State Park
#124
Alright, I tried to make this happen in the past but it seems that no one wants to discover this gem of a park...so once more:
Where: Colt State park
Bristol, RI
When: Sunday, September 13
Time: noon
Link: http://www.riparks.com/colt.htm
There is no fee to enter and unlike Hopkinton park, there's plenty of space without going to hidden lots making it nearly impossible to find people
PLEASE believe me when I say it is worth the ride. So let's make it happen and end the season right!

Yeah whats up with that Gnate?
On another note, I am not sure if there are any meet up spots before hand. If so for the MA heads I say one spot and dependent on how far that spot is from Newport we can figure out a time to bounce from there. If a spot cant be agreed upon I will roll right to Newport/Colt State Park as I need to be there a little bit earlier so the charcoal and grill are "ret ta go".

Front end is fucked, took it to mechanic, said steering could pretty much go at anytime and its unsafe to drive. Requires at least $1,000 in parts alone, pretty pointless for me to fix it, would be money i'd never get back.

When you go into the park, and go down the long entrance road, there will be a fork, stay to the left. If you go the other way then you will end up at the baseball, sport fields. We are usually on the other side of the park.

Here's what I'm thinking:
1 Go thru the main gate (white columns with bull statues)
2 Follow the road (cemetary on your right side)
3 Stay left at first split (there's a sign there. right for beach, left for Colt State)
4 Approach the "rotary" and proceed thru the brown booth.(first entrance)
5 Follow the road again and there will be a boat ramp parking lot on the right...we can meet there and then roll to a spot. If that's full there's another small lot on the left.
Don't worry if you get there late, it will be easy to see us up on the grass if you follow the road around the park.

It all makes a lot of sense to me, the steering wheel, i could literally flip and it would probably keep spinning for a while at this point. and the ride is awful, and scary

Did some tweaking to the ride. I'm ready, besides a wash in the AM. I'll bring a canopy (9x9ft) and a couple cheap fold up chairs just in case.
Providenceleaf....I remember, SSM TL-S back then, right?
Wow, what a night...see y'all later (yes, its 3:20am).
I will check this thread in the AM and throughout the day, so for those with smartphones and web browsers, post if your lost or can't find us.
