This is like ten minutes from my place, I should be able to make it. As far as food goes, the Park is about 5 minutes from US-1, and there's a lot of places to get food on there. Only thing is I'm not sure if they ding you a parking fee again if you leave and come back.

Everyone, bring dough. I think it's like $10 for in-state and $15 for out-of-state or something to access the Park. I could be wrong but I'm too lazy to call and ask and it's been a couple years since I've gone there.

Edit: Yeah I was right -- http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a...epNav_GID=1650

there was music, wiffleball, grillin, drinks....pretty much everything thats at a reg. bbq.

looking at cars is cool, but I cant do that for more than an hour. we need to think of other things to do.

too bad blazin cant swim.

Good luck with that. The last time I was at Sherwood, a statie made me and 3 friends dump an entire coolerr's worth of beer out in the sand, cover it up, and still issued the guy who brought the cooler a citation for it.

I am not fucking with alcohol at Sherwood Island Park. Honestly, that place kind of blows. The parking lot's not even a "lot", it's a field. You'll be paying money for the right to park on grass/gravel. Between that and the $10-$15, maybe a change of venue wouldn't hurt. I live ten minutes from the park and haven't gone in two years, with good reason...

ok so we can do wiffleball, and we can grill, and if anyone wants to drink we can bring stuff or whatever idc. If there is no alcohol allowed just put it in a different cup or something. Justin has a crazy mug that I stole for him while we were in Canada, maybe he'll bring it

and as far as swimming is concerned i dont think that water looks too clean so I wouldnt suggest anyone going in it but thats up to you. I was in Stratford a few weeks ago which is like 15 mins from this location and the water was NOT clean, i even remember seeing some dead fish floating.....not kidding

So if we are gonna do food or activities it would be good if people could post up ideas

It's Long Island Sound. It's no South Beach, but you're not going to get sick or anything. I've been in there before. It might be a bit cold, though... it takes until mid August or so for it to get comfortably warm. But hey, who knows.

There's a ton of field space for frisbee/football/wiffleball/other activities. There are lots of picnic tables set up along the wooded park next to the beaches themselves (there's an East Beach and a West Beach there), as well as a nice long walking path we could stroll on. If memory serves, there are grilles there, but public grilles are always nasty so we should come prepared to clean one, or just roll up with some tinfoil to lay down if we're going to be cooking. There's also some kind of food concession in between the East and West beaches.

We should get OG with it and bring those velcro tennis ball catch pads... ya'll know what I'm talking about... haha

Finally a meet close to me. But of course I'm still working on my car. If I get it done in time I will def be coming to meet you guys. That is a nice park too, but charging $$ to get in

On another note:
You guys might want to consider Scalzi Park in Stamford CT for a meet. First off its free to get in... 15-20 minutes from NY border. Huge b-ball, handball & tennis courts. Volleyball nets are right by the big bbq areas with grills and picnic tables. Brand new insane skate park! 4 or 5 baseball fields and tons of parking. My local car club meets there every thursday night and we never get bothered (15+ cars). Plus downtown stamford is like 2 minutes from there with tons of bars/clubs and restaurants. Just a thought.

Yeah I was going to mention Scalzi. I grew up in Stamford. It's a good spot, and close to downtown Stamford, which has got a ton of restaurants/night life, and fun shit to do. We should definitely do Scalzi, maybe in September?

SlickShiftNall6, where are you at in CT? I may swing by Scalzi one of these Thursdays...

I know Leo has a radar, but watch out for troopers around the weigh station between exits 2 and 3 on 95N, as well as exit 9/10. They like to chill in sketchy places around there and nail cats... and don't pull off at that weigh station, I think the rims on your RL will set the alarms off and your car will be deemed not Interstate Certified... haha

yea...sure

he tried to back into me once at one of the meets....waaaay before he was doing that crap...I don't trust em.

A guy with that many parking tickets cannot be trusted.

I got all of 2 points on my license since I started driving almost 10 years ago.
