**** Hubbard Park - Car Show / Cookout - June 14, 2009 ****
ok guys so this is a ctvtec meet that they were nice enough to invite us to. One of the guys over there even wrote this whole thing up and emailed it to me so all I had to do was copy and paste...NICE!

Hey everyone,
I finally chose a date for the Hubbard Park BBQ event!
I chose to have this event on this date after I ran polls for four days on ctvtec.com and found the majority of people would be able to attend Sunday at 12pm. This date also happens to fall on a day called Flag day. From what I come to understand it's the day we officially chose the nations flag.

Things that will be supplied by me free of charge:
I will be putting out a donation bin also. Even your lint and pocket change would help. Again don't feel pressured to donate anything or not show up because you aren't bringing any money or food. It really does not matter to me. I'm just trying to get everyone together for a good time!!
If you would like to help out in anyway whether it be food, or sporting supplies just shoot me a PM so I have an idea what will be there so i can organize the field better.
The location I chose for Hubbard Park is directly adjacent to the Playground. This seems to be the best place to have our cars close by, and an open field for us to hang out and actually do something beside stand around. I'm going to be there early and rope off the parking lot(Hope I don't get yelled at for that). There is a huge open field with two big BBQ pits and lots of garbage bins. Please do NOT hesitate to bring children, this is an all age event and we will be right next to the playground!
If you come in the main entrance of the park, its very hard to get lost. If you pull in and just drive straight, you will run into the meeting place. BUT, to lack any sort of confusion I went there today and took a picture for the more visually dependent people.
Directions and Parking:
The Park can be accessed via I-91
South to I-691 West to the exit for
Southington/Route 322. At the end
of the exit, make a left onto West
Main Street. Hubbard Park is on the
left, approximately 1 mile from the
highway exit. As an alternative, you
may take I-84 West to I-691 East to
the West Main Street exit. At the end
of the exit, make a right onto West
Main Street and continue as above.
For the GPS equipped 994 W Main St, Meriden, CT 06451

oh and one more thing.
I expect you aziners to donate money to the food fund if you plan on eating. The person putting this together was nice enough to offer to buy the food so I suggest you give like $5 so he doesn't get stuck with the whole bill! This is what we did at the last CT meet we planned and it worked out great!

Its gonna be alot of fun! Lots of people to feed! :-P Don't come dress to fansy either its a cookout! We will have fun stuff like flag football, frizbee, and some other stuff to do. This way we aren't just standing around. If anyone has connections with any sound equipment that would help out, no real connection to an outlet anywhere though.

Does anyone have a volleyball setup they could bring? They are rather expensive to buy.

Oh Carrie about the LI meet i want to go, but the wheels wouldnt like the ride and i dont feel like wasting $ on getting a trailer again so i think i am gonna pass on that this time, sorry...

No i took my other car to a meet and i had to trailer it an let me tell u that sucked!! I spent crazy $ at the toll booths lol. The last LI meet i had my factory wheels on the TL, so i drove up there no prob. Yea take some good pix and about the spot...just hold it anyways in loving memory of Pepsi Blue lol

For the hand full of guys coming from a long distance. I know some people that are attending are coming from Mass. and NY. Just make sure you keep an eye out on the Weather for the 14th. I will be looking at it daily to check for any updates. If anyone is concerned about it, please PM me. I don't want to have everyone questioning the weather in masses and scaring anyone away.
