Intel, the world's largest computer chip maker, has delayed signing a $50m per year sponsorship deal with the McLaren Formula 1 team amid growing fears the company could walk away from the sport altogether.

It is believed that Intel is furious that the FIA - the body that governs F1 - recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with its arch-rival AMD.

Maybe that's why I saw so many Intel baneers at the Champ Car race in Vegas, they really steeped it up!

 

The Ferrari F1 team has had sponsorship with AMD for several years... is that why Intel was interested to hook up with McLaren in the first place?

 

Probably, just like Honda and Toyota live to beat each other!!
