Turkey GP

It's been a nice couple of weeks for us to enjoy Honda's win, but now its back to racing.

It looks like the Ferrari's are running wheel covers on the rear wheels. I haven't seen this on race cars since ChampCars with superspeedway trim in the late 80's.

I got up really early today to watch practice. The back wheel covers on the two Ferraris are pretty neat.

That 19 yr old was driving in the practice session for BMW too,.......lucky bastard. My dad appologized to me this morning for not getting me into racing when I was a kid as I explained how the person driving the BMW was 19.

So Massa takes pole. How many laps will he last up front before making way for Schumi? I think he's already hinted at the fact that he'll make way to help out with both Championships.

I think the Renaults are running very light. The mix in the top 8 is interesting, as it represents 6 teams.

Ralphy drops 10 places because of precautionary engine change though,.......so Button is in the third row with Heidfeld.

Well that was an exciting race. It was great to see Massa win his first GP, but the 2nd and 3rd result was not what I wanted,......needed to be reversed. Only 4 races left and Shumi needs to make up 12 points now. It was BRUTAL to see Shumi get stacked in the pits when that safety car came out and both Massa and Shumi went into the pits at the same time. Overall a great race. Lots of passing and lots of good battles going on the whole race.

It was great to see the emotion with Massa after the win. Congrats Massa, and a big for your first win.

WTF was Ferrari thinking? They should have waved Massa past the pits, brought MS in and he would have won the race. Talk about a tactical error!

Huge error! The only thing that made sense is if both cars would have run out of fuel by next lap. That's two straight races where Ferrari has screwed up big time.

oh gawd, here we go. massa was the better of the Ferrari drivers Sunday, had the better car; and MS was all over the friggin place, he doesn't even deserve to win plus massa winning didn't put him out of contention.

why can't you be happy for the guy's first win? if MS had won like you predicted, it'd be assumed that massa is the whipping boy even in the face of such great winning chance (and you'll all bitch about that).

i got some cheese here, to go with all your whines!

What are you talking about? Their cars were basically the same. Initially Massa pulled away, then shumi started to close the gap. After the first set of pitstops their times were comparable. If you look at the laptimes you would know that shumi was pulling off faster laps at the end of the race than massa was.

Shumi made one costly mistake on track, but what cost him the race indefinitely was the botched pit stacking during the full course yellow. Just to show I am not the only one that thinks this:

In all probability Schumacher would have won, all things being equal, but Michael lost out when the safety car was deployed on the 13th lap and he had to wait behind Massa while they were serviced in the pits. Then Michael blistered his second set of Bridgestones pushing overly hard to make up time while running with a heavier fuel load than his two rivals. His performance in the closing laps was mighty, but those two factors militated against the victory that would have decreased the gap to Alonso.

I am sure everyone is happy for Massa, but ppl are paying attn to the bigger picture as well as the very poor tactical error made by Ferrari.
